Just wondering what everyone is up to this weekend? I have no plans, and am currently enjoying weddingbee, etsy and watching 2 fast 2 furious :)
Last night I went to the fair and had my first fried Snickers and my first frozen banana (loved them both). Today we're going to my FBIL's house to watch football and see my soon to be nephew. This is a much fuller weekend than usual but it's been fun so far.
Painting, painting and more painting. Getting the condo ready to put on the market. Super fun. ;)
@mandb122: Fried snickers? sounds interesting, was it any good? the banana sounds yummy though :)
@cleve_girl01: My parents are prepping their house to move too, ugh, i can feel your pain! specially because i had to help them move in just 5 months ago!
We're going for brunch soon with my BMs and then going shopping for their dresses after! Tomorrow is brunch at a friend's and dinner at FI's parents. I also have to find some time to do some work in between...
The fried Snickers was fantastic. The outside was like funnel cake dough in the shape of a corn dog. The inside was melted chocolate and caramel with nuts.
@ritsi_bitsi: family and friend get togethers are always a blast! My sister in law (soon to be) is also getting married next may, what are your colors? do you have anything in mind for the bridesmaid dresses, thats so exciting!
Fried snickers sounds AMAZING! Now Im hungry! :-)
Today we are cleaning our house thoroughly in preparation for my SIL to move in tomorrow! We are also going to a friends to watch the Auburn v LSU game today and tomorrow we are going to my mom's to celebrate my brother's 21st birthday!!
@mandb122: for some reason that gave me the idea to have a funnel cake station at our wedding....yumm funnel cake, im gonna run it by my fiance, when he gets up!
@PitBulLover: Your sil is living with you? wow that must be interesting. I also have a 21 year old brother :)
@mrschristmas: If I could just quit messing around on WB, the painting would probably go a lot faster! :) And good for you for helping your parents out. I hope they can turn it around quick! I'm not anticipating unloading mine very quickly.
My fiance would probably love that. We also got a funnel cake on our way out. We have funnel cake mix though and I know he said he'd make them sometimes if we had a deep fryer (he's really pushing for one for Christmas). They had toppings for the funnel cakes but we got just powdered sugar. That could be another option though. They had cherries, cinnamon, apples, and chocolate.
@mandb122: Sounds amazing! I love funnel cakes, unfortunately theres no where around here to get them :( i can get them back home but thats 4h away!
Fried snickers? Sounds yummy!
I'm shopping for a new laptop.
@BayStateBride: nice! My netbook just got a line down the screen :( So come christmas, i'll be shopping for a new laptop too!
I'm volunteering at the library, doing some yard work, writing, churching, and working on a few wedding projects!
@Minutiae: Curious...how do you volunteer at a library? Like what do you do? I wasn't aware you could volunteer there, i think thats pretty neet. Ooh wedding projects!, D.I.Y. Projects or more along the lines of booking stuff?
After I'm done procrastinating on the Bee....sorting mail, and planning this week's menu. Every week, I plan out a really thorough menu (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) and cook as much as possible on Sunday. It makes the week go so much more smoothly!
Then I'm off to the gym, then to my BFF/MOH's house for sushi and the new Resident Evil movie. Her college roommate is in town too, so it should be an awesome ladies' night out!
Sunday is yoga, cooking, wedding crafts (centerpiece trials) and a personalized cookbook for my friend's birthday.
@MissAdventure: I love procrastinating on the bee :) Wow i wish i could plan my weeks worth of meals, what happens if on that day you dont feel like eating what you have planned though? Yumm sushi, and if your talking about resident evil 3d, its amazingly done! The special effects and camera-ing make you feel like your right there with them. Hope you post your centerpiece trials, i always love seeing those. Personalized cookbook sounds cool, i can barely cook though :/
@Statutory Grape: Oooh nice! I just posted about halloween decor, are you going all out or just doing pumkins?
Packing...we're moving this week. Clearly, I'm procastinating and looking at wedding stuff online instead of what I should be doing :)
@PinkPinstripes: i love procrastinating on weddingbee :) Ugh i hate packing!
@mrschristmas:Me too! Our new apartment is a much better location but it's smaller so I'm *trying* to put things aside to store at my parent's house. Not much progress has been made lol
This morning I went to my son's last soccer game of the season and picked up the guys attire for the wedding. This evening I am going to a house warming party and tomorrow we are helping my FIL's move into a new place
@Nola: Sounds like there are alot of people moving this weekend, good luck with the move!
We have to be at our haunted trail tonight, but tomorrow, we are doing e-pics woot woot!!
@Miss Mitzie: haunted trail, sounds interesting...is that at your home or somewhere you volunteer/work? Epics sounds fun too!
We went to the Edible Garden Festival at a local tropical garden earlier today that was a lot of fun and we learned a lot about starting our own herb & lettuce garden on the patio. But best of all, tonight we're going to watch our OU Sooners defend being ranked #1 in the country! Tomorrow we're decorating our apartment door for a Halloween decor contest in the apartment complex too.
@soonerpsych: edible garden festival, is that more about growing your own garden? or like which plants you can actually eat, sorry if thats a stupid question. Door decorating contests are the one thing i miss about university dorms, my apartment doesnt have anything cool like that, although its mostly older people but still, i wish my apartment did cool stuff like that, it helps everyone get into the spirit of the season :)
Playing with our dogs, FI will be working =(, But having dinner tonight with his family and sunday with my family !
@mrschristmas: It was mostly about growing your own edible garden, but they did talk about which greens you can eat and such. Definitely not a stupid question, we're by no means gardening experts (or even intermediate really!). We've grown a few things like rosemary before, but we'd like to grow more veggies and such, so we were excited to see lecture on gardening for living in small homes. They taught how to grow in pots, we learned you can even grow typical large garden things like sweet potatoes and beets in pots! Very cool thing they put on.
I missed door decorating contests too, because we've been living in rental houses for the last few years, but moving here we had to get an apartment. I'm interested to see how it goes (our first one) because we have lots of older people too, but I think there's enough families that it'll be fun.
Let's see. I just danced in a show last night! That was fun! Carnival Noir: Voodoo and Vices. Really fun time! Today I FINALLY got a chance to relax (phew!) and tonight I'm going to a Halloween party (I DIY'ed my costume! I'm going to be a Voodoo Doll! Yay!). Then tomorrow the FI and I are bottling our homebrew! Very exciting!
@mrschristmas:We're pretty good about eating what's on the menu. I try to make sure there are a couple of our favorites every week, like panang curry, which is Mr. Adventure's favorite thing to cook. Yum! However, we always keep a couple of those Contessa freezer meals on-hand along with some potstickers, so if we end up lazing out and not wanting to cook we've got a backup plan. ;)
I am talking about Resident Evil 3...thank you for getting me even more excited! I'm a big fan of those movies, and of chicks kicking a$$ in general.
I'll definitely post pics of the centerpiece trials. I've already done a trial pomander and it turned out even better than I'd hoped. :)
@soonerpsych:Edible Garden Festival sounds awesome! We had our very first patio garden this last year and it turned out pretty well. Although I'm done with growing basil. Its my second year growing that and both years the plant has become horribly infested with aphids, despite my best organic pesticide methods. At least the tomatoes turned out well!
@staceynrick:I hope you post pictures. Your costume sounds way cool!
@FutureMrsChaney: family dinners can be fun :) What kind of dogs do you have?
@soonerpsych: do you have an idea on what to do on your door? i remember the last year i did halloween door decorating we made a graveyard scene with a zombie climbing out of the bottom of the door :)
It is cold and rainy out and I so do NOT want to get dressed and ready to go over to this house warming party.
