We are going half-sies for a couple's massage. It was a bit pricey, but we got a really good deal on groupon, so we were able to get it.
I got him a box of Coldstone Creamery chocolates and a new pair of sneakers.
ETA: I'm also making him a delicious dinner that will consist of porterhouse steaks with bordelaise sauce, mushroom risotto and asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and phyllo dough.
Maybe make him something? I also didn't know what to get my guy so I was planning on making him something, but he had planned a surprise trip to Tahoe to the snow, but I figured it out, so I got him some snow boots as a present (which I got 80% off! Heck-to-the-yes) Maybe you can find a good deal on something you know he really likes. I am big on bargain deal so I'm sure you can find something if you aren't feeling crafty.....Oh wait..food? My bf loves when I cook for him. Maybe you can bake him a cake?
Chocolate! He's way into the chocolate. And I think I'll cook him something nice for dinner.
He cooks a lot, so making a nice dinner for him sounds like a good idea.... now what to make is the question...hmmm
I was thinking of an adult themed gift basket.
I also want to make something, like a box of love with 100 hearts with reasons why I love him on them, or something like that.
We are going to cook dinner at home together and something really nice that we both want to eat.
@UpstateCait: I would totally be interested in the recipie for the asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and phyllo dough, if you don't mind sharing.
I bought him a Play station Move game that he has been wanting. I am thinking I mmight also get a little something off of his sears registry.
a blanket and a movie.
He had a very stressful week, the hospital was nuts, and he's so tired.
So i'm calling a night in with a new blanket to wrap him up in and his favorite movie.
All good ideas ladies! I was thinking about writing him a "letter" and telling him how I feel and how I can't wait to marry him, etc. I know this is all stuff he already knows, but it's not like we talk about stuff like that all the time besides the usual "I love you" etc... what do you ladies think? Oh and also making dinner ..
I got him chocolate (with peanut butter, his fave!) and a card. And we'll make a nice dinner together, and share a bottle of champagne and a bubble bath in our big tub. Nothing extravagant, but romantic and very "us".
@CurlyDreamer: oK, I just read your reply about 100 hearts about why you love him.. that is so creative! :) Might have to steal that idea!
We are saving for a few things right now, and always spend about $200 on dinner out at our favorite steakhouse, so this year we are doing DIY gifts.
For mine, I bought a big mason jar, and wrote on little slips of red and white construction paper, 365 reasons why I love him. It took forever, LOL. I cut them all up, folded them, and put them in the jar and tied it with a red ribbon. He gets to read one every day until next year.
He works out of state from March-September, so he can take them with him on the road! :-)
@Lindsay12.31.2010: BEST IDEA.. that's really lovely :)
@MissSawyer: Aww, thank you! I really hope he likes it!
We went halfsies on a Wii for our bdays/vday (: it made the most sense since neither of us really needed or wanted anything else from each other.
@Lindsay12.31.2010: oh my gosh.. I love it!!! 365??! I think that would be so hard!
We have a $20 limit because I haven't started working yet and FI is paying for the wedding on his own.
I'm going to get him a jewelry valet for his cuff links and watches and things. They are always alllll over the place. LOl.
@cherrycoke: I thought it was going to be really easy! When I first started, I wrote a ton, then counted them - - I had 40. LOL.
I'm also making some coupons for him with things he can "redeem". LOL. Easy and doesn't cost anything. Cute clip art and some scissors and viola!
I'm getting FI a surprise tattoo of his last name on the right side of my lower back...He works offshore on an oil rig, he just left to go off the coast of China for 28 days. We skype each other every morning my time (he's 13 hours ahead), and on Monday, he wants me to open the Vday card/present he left for me while we are skyping. And then, I will reveal my Vday pres to him, which I'm attaching below. I get it tomorrow and I'm so excited! Neither one of us has a tattoo, but he's made jokes before about his last name being tattooed on me, and how sexy that would be. But he'd never think I would do it. I can't wait for my 11am appt tomorrow on Miami Beach!!!

I got him this engraved with his, mine, my daughter and his son’s first initial and an A for our last name (or soon to be last name). He works the early shift and it’s always so cold when he leaves. He really needed a good insulated mug.

Uh, it IS a girl's holiday. I'm getting him a card and I'll pick us up a bottle of wine. I asked for a new purse. :)
White undershirts, boxer briefs, and a black scarf.
Its what he asked for!
Last year I got him a "Story-Photo Book". It took me a lot of time to work on it and I think it's one of the best gifts I've ever given anyone.
I wrote a sexy take on "Red Riding Hood" fairy tale, that included some risque pictures of me :)
The book had three chapters: Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice chapters :) Sugar chapter was empty because "only spicy thoughts come to mind" when I think of him :) Spice chapter had the story and Everything Nice chapter had two pages for Naughty and Nice wish lists for him (which he never filled out), homemade cross word puzzle and a few recipes that he liked.
This year I did Self Bodoire photographs for him. Not as elaborate as last year, but it took me a lot of time to properly set up the lighting and edit the photos as well as makeup and outfits. I hope he likes it :)
A six-pack of this fancy beer we've been wanting to try, with a big red ribbon on it. Also, as usual, I'm baking him his favorite cookies. And I got him a card. He is buying me some take-out dinner, that's all I know so far.
I'm not too big into V-Day so sitting at home with our favorite take out will be the only way I can think of to celebrate :)
I bought him a gift certificate for 3 carwashes, some cute boxers, a card, some lover's dice, and some lingerie (for me to wear, but I put it in his gift bag, lol). I also found a little scrapbook that I made for him about a year after we started dating and put that in his gift bag as a cute reminder. I might pick up some flowers to put around the house, already set out some candles. Tonight we are going to the drive in theater to watch silly movies. That's all for us.

Need ideas. I wanted to just bypass Vday this year and not get each other anything but fi says it's a girls holiday and I don't have to get him anything but he is def getting me something. I will feel bad if I don't get him anything, but I don't want to spend a ton either.... help!
