I am in need of a new face wash and moisturiser but I have no idea what to get! I don't have acne or anything, but I do get the odd pimple and have normal (maybe slightly oily) skin.
What do you bees use?
I'm using all Clean and Clear products right now, the orange ones.
C&C morning burst facial scrub - in the shower
C&C morning burst cleanser - at night
C&C morning burst moisturizer with SPF - after washing, whenever my skin feels dry
I bought them because they were all on sale but they are my absolute favourite of any skin products I've ever bought. They don't make my skin dry out and they smell so yummy!
I use Philosophy Purity Made Simple for my face wash or Neutrogenas pink grapefruit face wash (its awesome for oily skin!) For a scrub I will use Loreals Skin Genesis Deep Purifying Foaming Cream Cleanser or if I want a harsher scrub I will use my St Ives Apricot scrub. Dont use a toner right now because Ive been getting dry in my T Zone lately. Philosophy Miracle Worker for moisturizer.
face wash: Purity? its like a pale green color and i get it at sephora
Exfoliator: PCA Nutrient toner
Moisturizer: not sure its in a red and gray container. The scent is wild rose and its made in athens.
I have normal to dry skin
@Mrs. Beans LOl yeah the Philosophy Purity does look a little yellowish/green in color and I think the Wild Rose moisturizer is KORRES- A very good line of skin products, OP. AND smells divine!
I use Clinique (I have the 3-step system). I also use a Biore exfoliating cleanser and Say Yes to Carrots mud mask (I love this!)
I have normal skin.
I use purpose bar soap to wash my face on most days. A few times a week I use St. Ive's apricot scrub (don't use that everyday though - it dries you out!).
To moisturize I alternate between Bliss' triple oxygen cream and Caudalie's vinoperfect radiance serum. Both are expensive, but I love how both make my skin feel. And the scent of the caudalie one is amazing.
I like Lancome. You could try them?/I do hear great things about Clinque from friends that are known to get oily.
As for myself ..I tend to have combination/dry
I am devoted to my La Roche Posay products. Excellent french products- the face wash is amazing, as are their moisturizers. The Dior dermatologist recommends them and they arent even that expensive!
I use SIMPLE (the brand) face wash- gets rid of mascara and foundation SO well
then clinique 7 day facial scrub
then neutrogena oil free facial wash
then cetaphil moisturiser (or olay) :)
I used Cetaphil face wash and Oil of Olay moisturizer. I like the sensitive skin types for both, even though I don't necessarily think I have sensitive skin :) I also want to pick up Philosophy's Miracle Worker night moisturizer, since I've heard good things about it.
I use Arbonne RE9 Advanced. I was a long time user of Proactive, years & years and then they came out with the 'new & improved' and it just didn't work for me at all. I am in love with the RE9! I have combination skin oily here, dry there and I have never felt so refreshed & I feel like I'm glowing now.
I use Cetaphil face wash and instead of using a moisturizer I actually use clear aloe vera that costs like $1 at walmart. Lotions tend to irritate my skin and clog my pores. When I need something, I use Oil of Olay, the lightest thing they make. I have the most sensitive skin ever.
I wanted to put a shout out for St. Ives Green Tea scub/wash.
This stuff is AMAZING! My skin is perfect since I started using it a couple of weeks ago.
It is a really soft scrub, but enough to do the job. It takes off eye makeup and leaves skin sweaky clean without making it dry.
It smells amazing and is under $5.00 a tube!
I also love the Clean & Clear brand. I have been using it for over 10 years and theres nothing better. Ive used the expensive ones before (like Clinique), and those are ok. But Clean & Clear is amazing.
For moisturizer I like the Oil of Olay for oily skin. I use it in the morning before I put on make up, and at night before bed. Again, I have used all the expensive brands but I personally havent noticed a difference.
Oo yes, I also love St. Ives apricot exfoliator. I use it a few times a weeek and it works like a charm. And so cheap :)
Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser
Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner
Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer
Eucerin Dry Skin Therapy Original Moisturizing Creme
@misschickpea:, @Miss Marine: I second the Philosophy line! I use Purity daily with and the Microdelivery once a week. I use the Clairsonic brush to wash as well. I use Philosophy's Miracle Worker as the moisturiser and it's fabulous.
I've been using products from Lush, the Farmacy Fresh soap, Tea Tree Water Toner, and Celestial Moisturizer. So far I've really liked it!
I have super dry skin, and I keep it old school - Ponds cold cream (for washing my face) and Ponds dry skin cream for moisturizer. I LOVE this stuff. It smells so lovely, and makes my skin super super soft. I figure something that's been around so long has GOT to be good!
We use Clearasail (yea I know it's harsh for your skin but I love that dry clean feeling!) and St Ives Apricot Scrub for exofoliating maybe once a week.
I use Ponds during the winter and Clinique Moisture Surge during the summer.
So I have a coworker and friend who is a aesthetician And She reccomends Cetaphil over everything bc it is one of the only products on the market with the same PH factor as your skin. I had tried the cleanser before and liked the moisturizing properties but didnt like that it didnt give me that clean feeling so she told me to use the Bar Soap.
Let me tell you I can see and feel a huge difference in my face within the past 2 weeks my skin in smoother looking, It is more balanced I am no longer super dry here mega oily there. My face feels clean and I am noticing less breakouts!
SO I am sold I use Cetaphil Bar Soap (my $3 miracle)I use Oily Of Olay Moisturizer with SPF
I also love to use just pure Witch Hazel (you find it over with the alcohol and peroxude) Its a natural astringent.
I use the Clinique 3-Step Skincare System and I love it!
I recently bought the clinique 3-step system and I absolutely love it!! My skin feels so soft and clean and usually around my time of the month I would get like one pimple but this stuff prevented that. I am recommending it to everyone!
I love Dermalogica's line of facial products. You can find it at most ULTA stores. My skin is pretty sensitive and their stuff is very gentle. It has helped with controlling breakouts. Their Daily Microfoliant powder scrub is AWESOME. It's gentle enough to be used twice a day and it really helps with flaky skin. It leaves my face feeling soft like a baby's butt. =)
I have sensitive skin and I use NOTHING.
I wash it with water in the shower. I wear lots of sunscreen but nothing else.
As for Cetaphil, I HIGHLY recommend it. My daughter has severe atopic eczema and it is the only thing she can use. We use the liquid form.
@JennBug: I second Dermologica!
I love all of their products. I use the pre-cleanser, cleansing gel, daily exfoiliant, hydrating boost, toner and moisturizer...daily. My skin is normal-to-dry and this product REALLY leaves my skin GLOWING...people have noticed a change in my skin and complement me on it!! I can't say enough about it, recommended to me by my future SIL and I recommended it to my MOH and both LOVE it.
I have pretty sensitive skin that even tends to get a little dry and I use the Aveeno line. I think it's called simply radiant or something and there is SPF in the moisturizer (which I find to be key). It's all hypo allergenic and super gentle. I have used more expensive lines, but I honestly can't tell a difference. I actually can't remember the last time I had a zit!
I have VERY dry skin which I compare to the Sahara desert. It is not sensitive and I get the occasional "monthly visit" pimple.
Face wash: BioElements - Moisture Positive Cleanser
Toner: BioElements
Moisturizer - La Roche Posay Subsitane or Nutritic
I use proactiv cleanser twice a day (morning night and sometimes around supper time).
I use clinque toner and moisturizer (the yellow bottle stuff)
And I have an exfoliant cream I use every 3 nights... got it at the derms office but cant remember the name of it.
I have normal to oily skin too... my problem area being around my chin.
I have combination skin and I use Burt's Bees Natural Acne Solutions Willow Bark scrub and toner, and Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizer. So far it's made my face pretty nice and kept away most pimples (however it's done nothing for my PMS pimples which I have right now), and it's minimized my gigantic nose and chin pores by about half. I've been using it once daily for a month or so now but I think I need something stronger for the giant pores...benzoyl peroxide used to take care of those 100% but then I had a horrible allergic reaction to it one day and haven't been able to use it since :(
Clinique, Clinique, Clinique. Right now I'm loving their Moisture Surge moisturizer during the day and the Youth Surge Age Decelerating Moisturizer at night.
And I LOVE Biotherm's Biosource Clarifying Exfoliating Gel. Makes my face super soft!
I would say that I have normal skin and I get a regular "monthly" pimple, usually around my chin area. I use St Ives Apricot Scrub once a week and daily I use Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser, Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner and Aveeno Postively Radiant Daily Moisturizer w/ SPF 30.
I rotate through cleansers, but I will use pretty much any cleanser that does NOT contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, so pretty much any non-acne washes. I find they overdry and leave my pores open which makes me break out more.
Moisturizer I have been using Olay's Complete All Day Moisturizer. It has SPF in it, and is just simple and clean. Love it!
I also use a thicker eye cream at night, I think that it is also Olay.
I have sensitive skin, not particularly oily or dry, and I use:
In the AM: Purpose cleanser
In the PM: A cheap washcloth with water only, Clinique gel lotion on dry areas if needed.
I also will use pure witch hazel as a toner if I'm feeling particularly oily or sweaty in the afternoon.
Washcloth gives best exfoliation ever, and nothing to clog your pores.
I believe that if you are good to your skin, you skin will be good to you.
@JennBug and @bride2bejc, I third Dermalogica! I thought I had a freakish amount of their products, but sounds like you guys are right up there too. Have you tried the new agesmart thermofoliant? Good stuff. I always bring their bodyblock and after sun repair on vacation too.
