@peachacid:  Seems like there is more cons in staying than going, and although you will miss your kids your stability and challenge is ultimately more important because kids come and go.

DH is a music teacher and had the opportunity to make more money going to a different school, but we would have to pack up and be away from my family and he wouldn’t have the stability or the support from the staff like he does here, so we are staying 🙂

New job.  why stay at the old one when it wont be there next year.  That’s the only reason I’d need.

New job. At your current job the only way to go is down, sadly.  Take the job with a future.

New job for sure. Even if the old job gets the stay, you’ll be in this same boat next year. It’s time to move on, while you have the chance.

Take the new job- the salary cut will only be temporary and the shorter commute, better environment, and security will be worth it!

I’d peace out and take the new job. I know you’ll miss it, but seems like the cons are pretty crappy. Plus, job stability outweighs pretty much everything else.

@peachacid:  Bail!  Pay cut will suck, but you can keep looking.  Once a whole school full of people is out of work it will be harder to find a job.  If you get an offer now, jump on it so you don’t have to worry about it.

Take the new job. I taught at a school with a terrible administration and there is NOTHING worse. Get out of there ASAP!!

New job!  It’s closer, more convenient, and you don’t have to worry about doing this all over again next year.

I agree with everyone else… new job!

There are just too many cons. It’s in your best interest to go to the new district.

Best of luck!
