    I’d suggest going light brown first to see if you like non-blonde hair, then going darker if it’s your thing. That way, it’ll be easier to correct if you don’t like darker hair.

    @Mrs Grape: I totally agree.

    Or talk to a hair dresser about a semi-perm color that will fade over time if you don’t like it! (not an at home semi perm, definitely go to a hairdresser if you aren’t sure of what you want)

    I suggest getting “lowlights” brown instead of blonde

     start with just a partial and work your way to full lowlights and then maybe all over brown. You are beautiful. You’d look good with purple hair.Wink

    My best friend has the same hair issues (blond darkening over time and dyeing it for a long time)… she lowlighted to let her natural color grow back and she couldn’t look more gorgeous!

    The wash out colour WILL affect your highlights. You can use it, but know that if you don;t like it you’ll still have to use bleach to get it back to blonde (trust me, I know).

    I think you could totally pull it off! I’ve bounced between brown and blonde a lot recently and the one thing that is really awesome about being brown is you spend a LOT less at the salon because you don;t need to go so often for touch-ups. Therefore, your hair is a lot healthier.

    Just remember that if you’re dying blonde brown it will fade FAST, and you may have to go several times to get the actual colour you want to stay ๐Ÿ™‚

    I recently just went from very light blonde hair to having lowlights and highlights put through my hair. I am very happy with the results. I have the underneath of my hair brown also mostly just in the back like a peekaboo. When I first had mine done the brown looked really really dark and it took about 2 to 3 weeks for it to lighten up but I am very happy with it now. You might want to try this if your not sure if your going to like going all brown..it is less dramatic of a change. I think your hair looks great but you could definitly pull off darker hair.

    Go for it, especially with fall coming up! If you dont like it after the 1st week (because it will be a shocker!) then give your hair 2 weeks to rest and add some hilighting to help ease the change!

    I think you would look great with brown hair!

    I also have been getting blonde foils/highlights for the past 10 years, and I recently became very sick of the look and upkeep of it. My hairdresser dyed my hair brown a couple weeks ago, and I LOVE it. I actually think I look way better as a brunette. I was scared to make a huge change before the wedding, but I ended up loving it and I’m most likely going to stay a brunette for my wedding.

    I agree with the others though that it may fade the first time you get it done. When I first had it done, it was in between a medium/dark brown and it has gradually faded into a more of a medium/light brown. I’m probably going to go a bit darker next time I go, so it will fade into the color I want.

    Also, since you’ve been blonde for so long, your hairdresser is probably going to have to put a red filler in your hair, then dye it brown.. otherwise it can turn a greenish color. My hairdresser did this and it looked a little reddish when I first had it done, but now the red is completely gone and it’s all brown.

    Good luck and post pics if you end up dying it! ๐Ÿ™‚
