lorakath:  a bun. I usually throw mine into a low messy bun so it’s not so tight and restrictive but also not flying all over the place.

I have a hard time with this too because any poses where you’re essentially on your back a bun or higher ponytail seem to get in the way of laying my head flat on the mat. But I can make it work if I have to, otherwise I stick to a low bun or ponytail sometimes with a headband on too. I also found putting my hair up into a twist with grippy claw clips seems to work very well. I run into the same issue of them getting in the way when laying down but then they’re easy to take out and put back in very quickly during class.

I will put mine in a french braid (my hair is bra strap length).

lorakath:  I have these No Slip Chunky Grip Jaw Clips and they work pretty well…sometimes it does take a second to quick whip my hair back up but usually isn’t too bad. I catch back up to the class before the pose is over anyway. 🙂

I do a low ponytail – it doesn’t get in the way during the poses where yI’m lying down.

I wear a headband with a high bun otherwise I lay on it when I lay down.

I do a high bun so that when I’m laying down it doesn’t get in the way. Or I do a side braid and clip up my bangs. FWIW I do vinyasa and hatha and both work out fine.

Either a high sock bum or a tight braid

Try a bun really high on your head if your hair is that long. Or maybe braid and then do a low neck bun. I always had this issue in vinyasa as well. Pony tails get in the way when you lay on your back to stretch, headbands fall off cause you’re moving around so much, you’re sweating buckets, super annoying.
