I am in the midst of a dilemma. The WORST kind of dilemma. The one where you have all of these nice bras, but they were bought at a time when your tatas were either more filled out or were in a relatively depleted state compared to their former glory, and now you have only one nice bra that fits, but who wants to wear the same bra everyday until their bust size fluctuates again? Not me! I haven’t ever strayed from VS since I summoned up the courage to walk into the store for the first time, and I think it’s time to let go of my shallow bra-buying ways and explore the alternatives. Anyway… What I’m getting at is that I want to know what affordable (less than $35!) bras you gals think should be an absolute buy for every woman.

I really like my bras from Target’s Gilligan & O’Malley line. I have several in a demi style with some padding (they are lined, but not push-up pads). They are really inexpensive (<$15), have kept their shape over time, and the straps stay up on my shoulders better than my bras from VS.

I used to love the Vicki’s Body by Victoria but lately they just seem to be cheaply made, and the girls are kind of large. My new fav is the Cacique full coverage, it feels like you aren’t wearing anything, but in a good way.

@chelseamorning: I have some of those too! They keep their shape and support well for the price.
Anything from Warner’s is usually pretty awesome.
I actually just hit up the sale rack at a department store and found a couple of nice ones for $20-ish, about half the original price!

My fave is, miraculous push up from Victoria secret, I love it

Maidenform dream bras. Comfy and cheap.

I love the Victoria’s Secret bras. I think that if you catch the right ones in the 2/$40 section that it’s a great deal! I’ll spring for their more expensive bras every once in a while though.

I love the Very Sexy Push up by VC. I have pretty large tatas so for me it’s impossible to find cheap bras because they just are not constructed properly to hold up, push up and in and still be cute. However, if you have smaller ladies, then you have way more options.

I tried to stray from victoria’s secret, and with no exceptions, i have been disappointed by other brands in a similar/lower price point. My mom on the other hand HATES vickies, and buys at the leggs/bali/maidenform type places at the outlets.
I feel like bra fits have a lot to do not only with size, but with tissue distribution. I am 36DD and am very picky about my bras. It is hard to find a bra in that size that is age appropriate. I am in my mid-20’s and i dont want 1″ wide bra straps that are made for grandmas… I want my bras to be sexy and cute.
The VS bra that I currently am in love with is the VS dream angels lightly padded demi bra. I have a bio fit and body by victoria demis, but they have gradually not fit as well, even when trying them on in the store…
If you do want to try new things, i suggest going into a department store and grabbing an armful of bras in different brands and cup styles and just trying them on. I have a lord and taylor right down the block from work, and have spent hours of lunch time trying on all sorts of brands. It was helpful, even though I have never really found anything.

I prefer Gap Body bras. I usually browse the sale racks and find pretty good ones for $15 and under. I don’t like how VS doesn’t have 32s! And don’t ever trust those sales girls who try to size you… they have no idea what they’re doing!

I love my VS bra and my most favorite bra is just a padded one from Marshalls that cost me $15 – it is black and makes my boobs looks great and is SOO comfortable!

I love love love VS Dream Angels, that has been my daily bra for the last six months! I’m going to have to dedicate an entire day trying on bras and evaluating my girls in the mirror, what a dreadful situation to be in 🙂

@justeen: No kidding. I’m a 30DD and one girl tried to convince me I was a 34C! Forget that, VS. I’ll buy from Calvin Klein instead, where they actually carry my size…and don’t charge $70 or more, which is the case for most of my bras. 🙁

If you have problems with straps slipping off your shoulder, or are forced to wear bras with wide straps, you may be wearing the wrong size bra.
If you are wearing the correct sizethe straps will not slip, nor do you need 1 inch wide straps, even for DD breasts.
It is the band and the cup that should be giving you your support- not the straps.
Goto a good lingerie store where they offer fittings. You don’t have to buy expensive bras.
You can go elsewhere and look for bras in your correct size
They won”t all fit the same but at least you will be trying on garments that are more likely to fit properly.

Another vote for the VS Dream Angels collection (I wear the pushup). It’s what I wear every day. Most comfortable bra I’ve ever owned, and this is coming from a girl who owns 70-80 bras in 20-30 different styles. Yep. I’m a bra/panty junkie. lol. Although, my girls are not that big so…. I may have a different view on it that you do.
