First of all you get a hug. ((Hug)) Try not to worry.  I think that if you give your mom a little time to cool down she will be ready to talk and work things out.

She asked if you wanted them at the wedding. Do you? If so, then when you do talk to her explain that you do want them to be there.

Oh gosh, I am sorry you’re going through this. I know all about difficult mothers 😉 and they tend to get more aggravated (more ridiculous) as their daughters’ weddings get closer. Sometimes when people are afraid of losing someone (and to some parents, a child’s marriage is a way of losing them), they lash out and create distance so that the actual separation hurts less. Try not to react to the crazy things your mom said, if you can help it, and just let it cool down for awhile before you attempt to repair the damage again.

The answer to that question is YES THEY SHOULD!!! And they probably do, and the crazy behavior comes from the conflict between wanting your child to have something better than you did and being envious that you didn’t have it yourself. My mom justifies a lot of bad behavior by talking about how her mom was worse!

It will be okay!!! The less you let it hurt you, the less it will happen in the future!
