- Wedding: October 2010
Hey NY lovlies,
I am getting married in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in less than two months with a judge, witnesses, blood tests, etc. Our wedding planner asked me to verify that the “Acto Certificato” is sufficient for a legal marriage in the State of NY.
I have tried every government agency from the City Clerk and Marriage Bureau to the DMV, and I can not find a single person with an answer. They just keep transferring me or telling me to call the other agencies.
Anyone know the answer to this or have a number I can call where I can actually get information?
PS – The planner also mentioned an “Apostille” as another level of legality in Mexico, but she said it’s rarely necessary in most states.
Any help you can offer is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
