Wow that is super tight! That was like our down payment to secure the caterer.
I heard ND is really good, they always get rave reviews. I have seen Red Table around and they get good reviews as well. Where are you getting married? Do you need wait service/bartenders, because that is where the chunk of the money goes to, not just the food. Comprende?
I am having a cocktail hour, and then a floating reception with mini entrees and stations. I am providing my own bar and cake. My caterer is really reputable and knows the ins and out of my venue, and she is really nice as well. So it was a no brainer.
I would call these two caterers and ask them what they can do for your budget, maybe provide one server? Otherwise 4k for 100 people, I would look into renting our a restaurant in BKLYN or Queens for the reception dinner. There are some places in Brooklyn like ici and some really cool spots in Williamsburg.
Good luck.
Any questions, PM me.
We already have a great venue in NYC that include a full service professional kitchen and all the rentals in their fee. This $4k is ONLY for food; We're already set with staffing through friend of a friend. I was just curious if anyone knew about the quality of their food. ND seems pretty good quality and price wise. Still waiting to hear from red table. Thanks for your input.
My cousin just went to a ND catered wedding at Galapagos and she said the food was amazing... so yes I think they are good, never heard a bad thing from them yet. Good Luck!!!
PS: What is your venue?
Try Jason's Catering. We almost went with them when we were considering NYC for our wedding. They are very nice, very affordable and had yummy food at the tasting!
Dana Prestan catered our engagement party (250 people, heavy appetizers). Very reasonable pricing.
I've also had her cater a buffet dinner for a group of 30 gals before for a bach party dinner.
PM me if you want more dets.
oh i forgot to mention pricing. for my e-party, it was $35/person and there were 4 heavy appetizers.
for the bach party for my bro's ex wife, it was $40-45/person for a buffet style dinner.. it was 4 yrs ago so i don't remember all the dets but i'm sure it was only slightly above what i paid in dec for my e-party food.
dana can work with all budgets and gave us a lot of good choices.
I've always heard good things about ND but I don't have first hand experience.
The Raging Skillet is good, but not cheap though she will work with budgets. Try her out.

Hi -
Has anyone used and/or heard anything about Naturally Delicious or Red Table Catering? Our budget is TIGHT...like $4000 for about 100 people. But we only need food for a casual cocktail party/buffet, not a sitdown dinner. We're supplying our own alcohol and dessert. We just want GOOD food. We want casual, fun, comfort/BBQ food, not the typical "chicken or beef". If you've heard anything about these caterers or have any other ideas I'd love to hear about them.
Thanks!
