Ok this is the hardest question ever. I’m August 18th in PA – outdoor wedding, so sort of in the same boat.

There is literally nothing you can do about it and literally no way of being even remotely sure until a day or two before. As a control freak I’m panicking already :). Sorry I can’t help more, but try to just relax about it and save the freak out until you see the weather report for the week.

I got married ~10 miles north of NYC in August 2010. The weather on my wedding day was perfect (80F, no clouds, not humid, etc.). A year later (August 2011), hurricane Irene struck the east coast and my venue was completely flooded. So I’d say its a 50/50 chance. But worth it in my mind!

If you go to a weather website it will tell you the historic probability of rain.

Always better to be prepared, though!

Ahh me too! Maybe just keep a cute umbrella on standby :). And there are a ton of super cute wedding pictures in the rain with umbrellas and cute rainboots.

Rain is possible in NY any time of year, there is not dry season. That being said, in all likelihood it will be the 3 H’s in August: Hazy, Hot, and Humid.

I’m getting married in early May which I think has a higher chance of rain then August if that’s any comfort.

Don’t worry – it’s totally out of your control, but yes, you should have an umbrella handy.

Everyone tells me rainy days make for great pictures!

Hey! I am also having an August wedding – and although there’s a chance – it didn’t look TOO Horrible!!! I liked this website: http://theweatherwiz.com/

Thought it was pretty cool and they said they had pretty decent accuracy!!!!!

Plus: I agree. Umbrella pictures are actually really awesome. And if it’s cloudy – that’s the best lighting for a photo! I’m sure it will be ok!

Well they had a hurricane last summer in mid-August.  I got grounded in NYC and couldn’t fly to a work event I had been planning for months.

@louisianablue:  I mean anytime in late summer/early fall – Hurricanes are always a concern… Def scary though. 80% of my guests are OOT so I feel your fear!
