We looked at a space called 101 Riverviews in SoHo... the space was gorgeous, and it had some of the best views I have ever seen of NYC, but it was too small for our wedding of 55. The website is www.101riverviews.com.
Also, you could try a loft/studio space called Pochron Studios, located in Dumbo. It also has beautiful views from the terrace, and was a little small for our wedding. That website is www.pochronstudios.com.
Hope these suggestions are a good start! Good luck!
have you considered Bateaux NY? Its a fabulous, gorgeous, elegant dinner cruise. My fiance took me for my birthday one year and i was floored. you could rent out a portion of it for your wedding.
You should totally try this place in the West Village, 632 on Hudson. It's BEAUTIFUL, kind of has an Italian villa like feel to it. You could have the ceremony on the roof, and just have an awesome house party-like reception. I would have had my wedding there, but I had a few too many people!
I love this place. Not sure if they've ever held a wedding there, but I've been to a party there. They rented out the entire place. There's a really big bar/lounge area and the dinner seating is really nice. Peasant NYC (Italian Restaurant).
How about one of those yachts?
The "Noa Danielle" is a yacht all done up in the 1920's Great Gatsby style, and you have the entire view spectrum of the city during the trip.
It was featured on one of the wedding shows and it looks great for a smaller group of people.
Try the Blue Hill Restaurant: http://www.bluehillnyc.com/ I was looking at it for me, but I will have too many guests.
good luck!
I LOVE the River Cafe in Brooklyn, perfect for a small wedding in my opinion,
Here are some photos of a daytime wedding there!
I am having a 30 person wedding, and we must have looked at 30 places at least. We are having our wedding at the New Leaf Cafe in Fort Tryon park. But some other places I really liked were the Hudson Hotel (penthouse space), the Soho Grand Hotel, Williamsburg Apartment, Thalassa (a restaurant), Manhattan Penthouse (though it was too big for us). Hope this helps!

OH MY GOD. Planning a wedding can be very stressful and time consuming, but I am sure it will all be worth it in the end. My finacé and I are very low key, not heavily religious people with a small group of immediate family and friends, and I am searching for the perfect little venue to have a small ceremony and recption in the same place. I want it to be fun and creative and but still elegant and classy. I have searched for many many many hour online for venues and have found some that are perfect but the spaces are too big for a party with a 30 person head count. Does any one have any suggestions? I am very open to any ideas... Any help would be really really appreciated.
