i would love to help.... we got married march 15th right before easter and we did filled choco eggs for our favors
We got married August 08 at Ramscale Loft in the West Village and had a "dinner-by-the-bite" cocktail party. We LOVED working with Brooke at Creative Edge Catering, and their food was amazing (our wedding was attended by a lot of people who regularly attend galas/weddings in the City, and all said that it was the best "event" food they had ever had: top shelf quality and presentation). We did 9 types of passed hors d'oeuvres, a veggie station, a passed "small bowl," an "amuse bouche" station where the chef turned out amazing small plates, and passed dessert bites. It wasn't cheap, but it didn't break the bank either, and best of all Creative Edge was incredibly attentive and totally understood our perfectionist (and foodie) tendencies. For favors, we gave out "I Love NY" t-shirts that we haggled for in Chinatown ($1.10 a piece!) tied in a square with red raffia. Also, our flowers were done by Banchet: we used their "minijewels" for $35/piece, which looked great on our high top tables with barstools. Good luck! I wish we could have the party every year!!
Taste Caterers is great! Your best bet w/ o a doubt is Chinatown, even NYC shot glasses there are so much cheaper or go to the Chelsea flea market.
We had a hot pretzle cart at the end of the night - classic NYC!

Good luck!

My fiance and I have been living together for 6 yrs and are tying the knot. We want to keep the wedding simple and have decided on a church ceremony followed by a cocktail reception late July.
I am scrambling to get everything organized and would really welcome the input from fellow bees. Fortunately we are able to get the cocktail reception venue free of charge but need to figure out:
Do you know of a great caterer? Bartenders?
Any"NYC" favors we can give our guests?
Please give me any rec's and suggestion ...desperately need them!
