- Wedding: July 2011
One of Fiance and I’s favorite places to be is NYC. If we can afford it after paying for a wedding and starting my masters this summer, we would like to go to NYC for our honeymoon.
We haven’t set up a budget yet because we don’t really know where we will be, but I think we could do a nice 4 night honeymoon in NYC for $2,000-3,000. What do you think NYC bees? Is that possible?
We don’t necessarily have to stay in the fanciest hotel/room, but we would like it to be nicer than normal… for us, we could do with about anything.
We are familiar with the public transportation systems, so we feel like we could really stay anywhere and figure our way around easy.
Does anyone have any recommendations of places to stay?
Here are a few I have looked at:
Best Western Plaza Hotel NYC– actually located in Long Island City. Close to LaGuardia Airport. Around $700 for 4 nights plus airline tickets (sold separate). Continental breakfast. King size bed with in room jacuzzi. Does anyone else think an in room jacuzzi would be awesome? This is not located in NYC itself, but is only a few subway stops away. Online reviews say that it is not in the best area, and although nothing happened, it seemed kind of shady at night. : /
Hotel Pennsylvania: Low end price point for staying in Manhattan. $566 pp for 4 nights INCLUDING airfare. Double bed. Definitely not the prettiest rooms, but cheap for staying in the city.
Hilton Times Square: Located in the middle of all the action. Starting at $699 for 4 nights, no flights included. King size bed.
Suite has a huge bathroom with whirlpool tub and separate shower. But it says you have to call through a travel agent to book this room…. strange… I probably don’t even want to know what it would cost. : (
Park 79 Boutique Hotel Upper West Side (by Central Park) Double bed
The Benjamin (This might be fate- Fiance is Benjamin) $879 each including flights. On site spa.
Any advice on hotels ladies?
Some of the things we would like to do include:
– Broadway show (or 2)
– Helicopter ride over the city
– Night tour around manhattan on Ferry
– Top of the Rock/Empire State? (we have already done both)
– Central Park
– Explore some of the different areas (chinatown, little italy, etc.)
– Eat great (but not too expensive) food
– Slice of cake from Carlo’s Bakery (from TLC’s Cake Boss)… if I can talk Fiance into it!
Any other ideas of things to do/see/places to eat? I love suggestions!
