Try NY Mag: http://nymag.com/weddings/listings/hair/
It's at least a good jumping off point, although I found all the hair/makeup suggestions to be pretty expensive.
I went with JoAnn Robertson - goglambeauty.com. Can't recall what website I found her on, but she has good reviews (including mine) on weddingwire.com (which weddingbee now uses at its review site).
She was very thorough during the trial, taking notes and asking what you liked and didn't like and made any adjustments - she took pictures and on the day of, everything went super smooth. It was me and MOH and we both looked great. She works with all skin and hair types (and I do mean all, unlike many other "artists" out there) and is very reasonable with costs.
You can do the trial at her studio and she'll travel to you the day of the wedding. GL.

Hi NYC Brides,
I went for a wedding hair trial at my local salon in Manhattan and left in tears (practically). Does anyone have any recommendations for places to get hair and makeup done for my wedding day? I am willing to go there. The wedding is in November!
Thanks!!
