Weddingbee boards

I'm in the beginning stages of finding a photographer for my NYC wedding. It's going to be pretty low key and the photography is low on the list of splurges. We'd like to spend under $1K and really only want digital images (cropped and touched up) and will print them and make our own albums. Have you seen what blurb can do (http://www.blurb.com/create/book/wedding_books)? It's amazing!  Anyway, I found Mariano www.delgado.artbydna.com essentially from a craigslist ad (he's a friend of Aaron Almendral who someone suggested somewhere). He charges $700 for 8 hours of shooting, touches up the photos and then sends you a CD of all the photos, his picks in black and white, and his picks in color. Then you go thru adorama or whatever to print them. He also will charge me $100 for travelling to my sight in Queens. Does this seem reasonable to you? Aside from looking at his website and meeting him in person, how can I make sure he's reliable, trustworthy, does good work, etc? What's expected for such a cheap price in the way of service and hand holding? Has anyone used him? Thanks all for your advice!

Thanks. I'll check out Indiebride. Let me know if you end up using him. I contacted Aaron first but he's already booked for my date. Are you going to meet him in person? I thought it was weird too, but he lives in Jersey...
