I recommend Cafe Wha for music – the night starts with comedy and then the Cafe Wha band which is an incredible cover band! I would make a reservation for the early set and plan to stay for the whole night (comedy and two sets). It’s so fun and the music is great.  Also, you can get a great dinner in that neighborhood beforehand (Greenwich Village/Washington Sq area).

Also, for something to do during the day, you can go to Governor’s Island. Also, Saturday morning you should check out Smorgasburg for a casual brunch with tons of food, right in Williamsburg (1 train to the L, one stop into Brooklyn).

Go to Brooklyn Bridge Park. It’s super cool and picturesque. You can have some ice cream on the nearby promenade and you can eat some world famous pizza at Grimaldi’s which is walking distance.

@annieaaa: Yes, that is very nice. Now that we have the Citibike program, you could even rent bikes and bike around the city. Also, you should add “The Frying Pan” to your to do list. It’s a restaurant/bar on a boat that’s docked by 24th St and the Westside Hwy. It’s a great time.
