I just received an email from Pronovias today- they are having a sample sale on Sunday, Dec 6th, in their Madison Avenue store. You should check it out:)
You should check with the individual designers if you have some in mind. They usually have regular and e-mail mailing lists to notify brides of upcoming events.

The Kleinfeld Blowout Sale is Dec. 1--- they also do regular sample sales (appointment only) once a month.
