My fiance & I have been looking at wedding venues for about 2 months and haven’t found “the one”. We were very close to locking in with the HYatt in Jersey City, but now I’m having some concerns. The view is amazing, but the decor is questionable. Ugly blue carpet and ugly blue chairs. We’d need to rent different chairs, which is an additional charge. Also, the ceremony would need to be in half of the reception room with an “air wall” as we’re looking at november and likely it will be too cold outside. Has anyone done this? Was it pretty? Did it feel weird to the guests? The other option is to do a church wedding, but my fiance’s church is in Bayside, NY and probably too far for the guests to travel. Any ideas on how to handle? Has anyone had weddings at churches in the area, even if you weren’t part of the parish? Or any ideas on other wedding venues that have views of nyc skyline that might require fewer changes to the room itself?
Thanks for the help!
