i'm actually very interested in the answer to this question as well. i've heard some people use an online service called wedclean.com, which sounds like it's less expensive.
DO NOT USE Bridge Tailors in Brooklyn! I went there to get my dress pressed and the woman told me and put on my receipt that the dress would be ready on Saturday at 5:30pm; we went there at 5pm since it was near the hotel and I wasn’t going to go out afterwards. We get there and the store was closed. Fortunately, there was tailors there and after much yelling and convincing, they got me my dress. I’d have busted through the doors if needed to. And the irony is that the tag that was on my dress said Friday at 5:30pm – don’t ask me how she created two different tags with two different days. I will never, ever go here again for anything – who needs that kind of stress before their wedding?!
I wouldn't change anything by taking my dress there to be cleaned after the stress they put me through.
Cameo Cleaners has an excellent reputation for handling wedding dresses. This is their cost estimator - they will send you a $100 gift certificate for completing the form! If they don't get back to you or send you the certificate, let me know - I work around the corner and can kick some booty for you.
Um...duh...

Hi all,
Any suggestions for a place in NYC to get my wedding dress cleaned that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? The places that I have called START at $400 -- ack! Of course, I do want one that is reputable and will do a great job (I am planning on selling my dress and want it to be lovely for its next owner). Ideally they would also offer some level of protection/insurance in case of damages -- is this possible?
I am hoping that you NYC newlyweds can help a financially-challenged newlywed out!
Appreciate it!
