I am planning a wedding for Spring 2012. I am having trouble finding a venue for a 200 person seated reception. I am looking to spend around $200 - $250 per head for dinner.

I love the light house and want to find modern places for a wedding any help I would appreciate

Trying to think of places...have you looked into..

Tribeca Rooftop, Yale Club, Battery Gardens, The Ritz, Hudson Hotel, The W is pretty modern (but I know the one in Union Square won't see 200), Gustavino's,  Boathouse...

Definitely Tribeca Rooftop! It's beautiful and very modern. Also, Studio 450 if you don't mind finding a caterer and rental company.

What about Tribeca Grill? I know they have an upstairs room, not sure how many it holds though.

Try Bridgewaters at the South Street Seaport!  We're working with them for our 150 guests and they definitely have room to spare - very modern industrial feel.  The menu is very extensive too!

Studio 450 in Midtown is a loft with beautiful views of the city!  You have to bring in everything, but could probably do it for your budget.

I had my reception at Guastavino's. It ended up being around 250 a head. It's a beautiful space, and historically significant (architecturally at least). The vaulted arches are very urban without looking too stark, and you can light the room in any way you want- you can even change colors throughout the night if you so choose. It's also nice because although the ceilings are high and dramatic, the space doesn't feel cavernous. The food is excellent, and you work closely with one of their consultants to make sure that everything is in order the day of. The space, I believe, can sit up to 400 people, though I only had 150 and it worked out great for us- the room felt very full without being crowded.

@rbh1000: I am also planning a wedding for spring/summer 2012. I loved 620 Loft and garden but its so out of my budget. My FI and I are looking for something different as well..with a nice view but no more than $250pp. I was interested in the Bridgewaters venue but reviews weren't the greatest.

Have you chosen a venue yet or are you still searching?
