Hello wedding bee community!
I have loved reading your posts and squirreling away advice. I have a direct question for you ladies. I know autumn hasn’t even really started yet, unless you’re in the UK like I am, and winter feels a long time away. However life loves to make us busy and forgetful, so I’m trying to be as proactive as possible. My friend is getting married on new years eve, and I have been invited to both the ceremony and reception but since I might be working that day, and I was originally told there was only space for me and his other friends at the reception, I’m going to plan for only attending that half of the wedding. So what does one wear to a new years eve reception? I’m 23 and this is my first friend to get married. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

I would probably wear something with a bit of a ‘party’ feel to it, like a nice glittery or sequined dress 🙂 You mght not have gotten away with it at the ceremony but for the reception I think it would work. Is there a specific dress code?

I definitely go for something sparkly or full length! Are they having any sort of dress code? Quiz has some gorgeous full length sequin dresses on sale at the moment! X

Thank you so much for replying! Just been told it’s formal, and the colour scheme is peacock so I have something to go on now. Thank you very much for the Quiz tip, their dresses look lovely X

full length for formal. NO WHITE for the love of all things do not wear white– was just at a wedding where TWO people wore white dresses the same length has the brides tealength dress. one was lace and one was satin .
