...apparently according to CNN "Osama bin Laden is dead, and Obama is about to announce it."
uhhh...no you just did, you jack wagon! Way to spill the beans!
ETA: the reporter also said "everyone will remember where they were the night they found out that Osama bin Laden is dead, just like they remember where they were on 9-11" wtf.

haha Kingy is so mad its interrupting his show.. but I suppose it is pretty important, so I can forgive Obama for having to inform us lol

I normally get upset when my shows are interrupted but this one is definitely worth it. I'm curious to hear the details of what happened.

well, they just kept building it up like it's a UFO attack on America or something and then they are speculating all these things and Blair Wolf is making himself sound like the biggest idiot ever. Then he finally says that it's that Osama is dead. It's going to suck if that's not what it is
Blair even said "Obama will even say who else is dead in his statement later"

@DesireeAnne: CBS and NBC are claiming they have confirmed it and the US is in posession of his body.
according to the news Osama was killed by a US bomb last week and now we have possession of his body in the states.
I wish they had waited until 10PM. I'm missing the end of my show!
@Sah: I hadn't thought about him in a while too. The first person that came to mind when they said that there was a special report coming up was Kadafi.

@Genevieve: I was on the phone with my mom and I heard my grandma scream in the backgroud "STUPID OBAMA! I missed who won!!!" I think he made a lot of people angry...

Thanks for posting I was totally into this movie and would have missed the announcement.
The foreign correspondant on NBC is saying that this is the end of a chapter in our history and talked about how Bin Laden changed security, travel, religion, etc.
Does anyone really think this will change things? Do you think it is really possible that troops will come home, that travel will go back to what it was pre-9/11? That would be wonderful, but I can't imagine it happening.
@Jeannine @ Small Chic: I don't think it will happen any time soon.. my FI's brother was in Iraq for a year and a half and he said the news here sugar coats A LOT

@tksjewelry: I was literally just about to go to bed, but then i noticed a "special announcement" grid on the screen and decided I'd wait.
@Sah: A few of his family members lived in Boston. They weren't in contact with him. If memory serves (I lived in Boston at the time), the government arranged for them to get out of the US soon after 9/11 because there was a concern about them becoming targets for retaliation.
Oh, I guess that's what this whole thing is about. I was had Bravo on in the background and a new show came on... he was like, "Everyone will know where they were when they found out that Osama Bin Laden..." and I turned off the TV. Baha! I thought it was one of those joke shows and I was tired of watching tv. Now I know :)
I'm interested to hear what happened.
CBS is saying gunshot wound to the head, CNN is saying drone strike.
@Sah:RE: our news, the movie Green Zone really opened my eyes. Obviously, it's not a documentary, but it depicted the way the media is maniputated.
@Jeannine @ Small Chic: Wow I didn't know that... I was only in the 6th grade so I don't remember much other than getting rushed into the gym to watch it on TV and gathering all the students who had parents working in or near the Towers (I lived 30 min from NYC).
