I had my hair trial a few weeks ago and while it wasn’t quite envisioned when I looked at it at the salon, I thought it was pretty and didn’t ask the stylist to redo it (especially because she kept talking about how good it looked!). But, after I got home and took pictures, I’m not so sure I’m loving it.
This is what I was going for…
And this is what I ended up with…
I know they’re similar, but my inspiration photo is more of a knotted chignon, while my hair trial (to me) looks like more of a curly bun. I know it shouldn’t matter this much, but I can’t stop obsessing over it!
I can’t have another hair trial because a) I don’t have the money and b) I just moved several states away from my hair stylist and won’t be back until the wedding. Should I tell my stylist that I want more of a “woven” look on the day of the wedding and hope that it looks okay, or should I just go with what she gave me and stop worrying about it?

Honestly, I love what she did and wouldn’t change a thing. I think it’s gorgeous! However, if it’s not what you want for the big day definitely tell her you want a more woven knotted look and she should deliver. Do you have any other pictures to show her? If there was only the one picture maybe she wasn’t clear on what you wanted.

i think that you should ask for what you want, make sure you go in early enough so that if you think it needs to be changed you have time. Either way i think it turned out really pretty!!

Okay, thanks for your input, ladies! 🙂

I think “woven” is an excellent way to describe the look. I would call her and explain that you want that look for your wedding and maybe she can practice achieving that look on a guinea pig or something. Good luck! It really is a lovely look.

I love how she did it,but if you’renot sure let her know, msybe she can leave a little extra time, just incase you don’t love the woven look after she tries it. Bottom line…it’s your day and you should go with whatmakes you feel happy and beautiful!

I agree with PPs, your ‘do looks very pretty. However, if you don’t like it or it didn’t turn out the way you thought, talk with her. Give yourself a little extra time on the big day so that the tweaks to give it a more woven look get your approval. No hair stress 🙂

Oooh I love that inspiration pic! I am saving it now!
I can see what you mean, its a little different than the inspiration pic but it still looks great. I would be happy that the stylist got it so close. I could show you a couple of pictures I have taken in that turned out AWFUL lol

What she did looks even better than the inspiration pic to me!

I really love it! It looks very similar, but better than your pic in my opinion! It’s beautiful.

I think both are really beautiful! Either should be fine, but if the other one really isn’t doing it for you I think you should let her know.

I showed my stylist a pic from her own portfolio that had that “woven” look, and she said it was just pinned up curls. So I guess it’s just the way the curls are pinned? The reason I like the woven look is because it makes the curls look not too precious and prissy. But what she did with your hair does not have that problem at all. I think it looks really effortlessly beautiful. If you’re worried about it, you could talk to her and see if she gets what you mean about the wovenness. But I think she will do a great job with your hair regardless!

Stick with it. I think your trial looks much better than your inspiration photo.

i personally like the trial better than the picture! and it is very very close! but, like everyone else is saying ifi its not what you wanted then def say something. it seems like the curls just need to be pinned in more, with no ends showing. I def wouldnt go in for another trial but just the day of ask her if she could just pin the ends in more so its all more tucked in. or just say less curl and more loop:-) it will look great!

Oooh! I LOVE the curly version and think it looks amazing! You are about to be the first pic in my hair inspiration file…
