My good friend used It's All About the Cake in Dana Point for her wedding (and her sister's baby shower and said baby's batism) and they are SUPER yummy and pretty cakes. Basically she loves them and uses any excuse to buy one of their cakes.

and Savoie's Fare in Laguna Niguel is great too, although I think they are pricier than It's All About the Cake - they do an EXCELLENT job and the staff could not be nicer.
Savoie's Fare is also a cafe so you can walk right in and see the books and pictures of cakes on the wall and buy pastries.
It's All About the Cake, as I understand, is not a walk in bakery and you should call first and set up an appointment.
I could not recommend my cake person enough: For the Love of Sugar. Sarah Witt runs it out of her home so the prices are very, very good, but the cake is delicious and the designs are adorable. She was a dream to work with and I highly recommend her!
Linda is great and located in Newport Beach. Her cakes are also very affordable. Her website is below:
My friend got her cake at Rockwell's or Rockler'? It was so tasty. They are located in the city of Orange.
We ordered ours from www.greatdanebakery.com and they are PHENOMENAL.
I've ordered their cakes for many events that I've produced and they are always a hit. Their design is amazing, the cake actually tastes good (raspberry w/ bavarian creme is the signature cake), and they are so professional and reliable. They deliver all over OC.
We did not freeze our top layer for our anniversary because we wanted to just go in and order a duplicate fresh cake on our anniversary to enjoy!
i second rockwell's cakes in orange. we are getting our cake from them and the tasting was yummy!
I am getting mine from It's All About the Cake in Dana Point. I visited several bakeries, but this one stood out. They had tons of delicious flavors and will do any combination of cake/filling/frosting your little heart desires. Also, they can do pretty much any design you'd like (obviously the price goes up considerably if it gets complicated). Plus, I've changed my mind about a zillion times on what I want and they have been very accomodating.
Added bonus: you don't have to do that whole saving of the top layer and then eat thawed, year-old cake on your first anniversary. Serve the whole cake at your wedding and then just call them up around your first anniversary and they'll make you a brand new anniversary cake that was the same as the one you ate at your wedding!
DO NOT GO with BLOOMINg CreATIONS.. they messed up my best friends' wedding cake.
she even cried because of it on her wedding day. :(
they have a bakery in the pomona area and in oc.. so be careful of them. lol
I hired Susanne at http://www.sweet-art.com/. She works out of her home, and she's a real Swiss Chef! Her cakes are like nothing you will ever try. That was the one thing we splurged on in our entire wedding, a delicious cake meant everything to me. I don't remember what we paid, but it felt like it was a lot.

Hello,
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good bakery in the OC? I am having my wedding in Laguna Beach and wanted to use something closer than bakeries in LA. I am thinking this will bring down the delivery cost.
Thanks!
