There is a lady I have gone to for about ten yrs now. She is great! But she is located in Aliso Viejo. Is that too far for you?
Don't know where you're located in Orange County but I have great recommednations for both threading and waxing salons in the Cerritos and Long Beach areas (both in LA County but very close to the OC)!
For threading there are tons of salons in Cerritos and neighboring city Artesia. The two salons that I have been frequenting since about 10 years ago are: Farri's Salon, located on Pioneer Blvd. in Artesia, and Vinita's Salon located on 183rd Street right across from the Los Cerritos Mall. (You should be able to yellow page them for location and contact info). Both places do great work and costs about $6 to $7 for eyebrows. At Farri's I always use the owner, Farri, she does a great job shaping brows. I don't know the names of the girls I use at Vinita's but either girl at Station #1 and #6 are fabulous.
I just found a fantastic place in Long Beach for waxing called Aesthetics By Irina -- and best part of it is that they use "Sugar Wax" which is all-natural and is much less painful than regular wax. All the info, pricing, services offered by this salon can be found on their website at : http://aestheticsbyirina.com/. Irina is absolutely the BEST!!!! ![]()
Hope this helps!!! ![]()
msam007562- Thanks for all of the info! I'm one of those people that has lots of location options because I live and work in different cities, so driving is normal for me. Areas that work best for me: I work in Hacienda Heights, so anywhere between there and down the 60fwy to diamondbar and then between the 57 fwy where it connects to the 5 fwy down into Irvine (long drive every day!). I also go to Huntington beach quite a bit because my in-laws live there.
sparkles -- I just pm'd you :-)
Anyone else have suggestions?
even though i have not gone in a while, i have been going to always Ziba's (artesia, long beach, costa mesa) for over 10 years, so i am sad that someone had a bad experience. it is hard to find someone new to trust with your brows!
LBbride82209 -- When was the last time you went there? What was your experience like? The article was about the poor treatment of the women working there, and I was hoping that someone could confirm that they had changed their practices since the article (it came out over the summer).
I know some people don't care (or choose to be oblivious to) about the treatment of workers as long as they get a good deal, but I have always been senstive to this. There are many places I could go to get cheap stuff and cheap services, but I don't because of unfair working conditions. I'm sure I don't always succeed, but I at least try to be cognizant of it.
I've been trying to find out about Ziba, but haven't heard anything in a long time.
@Sparkles: where in aliso viejo? That is by me! I'd love to find a place to try waxing (read: never done it), but I want somewhere were they are nice and gentle because I'm a little scared.
i've been going to a place in Brea called Mercedes Spa & Salon for the past eight years and they just changed their name to Brea Day Spa recently. They are across from the Brea Mall off the 57 & Imperial. They do AMAZING facials but be prepared for some pain because they do some major acne removals along with they typical massage, mask, etc but it is well worth it since my face is spotless for the next few weeks (i break out quite a bit). They also use Aveda products. And they do great massages! Let me know if you want more info!
I tried Nanu in Costa Mesa this past Friday. It was my first time getting my eyebrows threaded (I usually tweeze), and I definitely plan to return a few days before the wedding. I found out about Nanu on Yelp; most of the reviewers recommended Navi who I requested as well. The cost for eyebrow threading is $8.

By the way, thank you for starting this thread (no pun intended). It definitely was the motivating factor to see what threading is like (it's awesome! I never knew my eyebrows could look so clean!).
Check out Ziba in Artesia or there is one in OC across from South Coast Plaza. I really like Sheer Artistry in Diamond Bar. I've been going there for eye brow threding since I was a teenager!
There is this Laser Hair Removal at Westminster Mall Called Diva. I just started my treatment. So far so good.
Duckling, my friend recommends Salon Diva in Laguna Niguel Town Center.

I would like to know places that the bees recommend to get any of the following services done:
I did laser hair removal the year before my wedding, but the place I went to was bought out by another company and I am NOT happy with the new company. I have also always been interesting in having my eyebrows threaded, but there was a bad news article on the place that was recommended in an earlier post (Ziba).
I go to Total Woman Gym and Day Spa for my facials and massages (they are included in my membership).
