Is there room in your budget for uplights? I feel uplights with distract from anything you don’t want your guests to focus on. Or string lights everywhere

My thoughts are brown tableclothes maybe lace in the center  or burlap with a wooden crate with your flowers??? Mason jar for glasses and cylinder vases with rocks and your floating candle Im planning for this . Good Luck!!

If it’s possible for you to drape the walls in fabric and dim the lights, anything is possible.

I think you can pull it off, for sure. I agree with the PP – try to dim the lights and hang strings of twinkle lights. That will really help with the mood and people won’t really notice they’re in a gym.

DH’s cousin had her reception in a pretty bland church hall – she hung strands of white twinkle lights and those cool paper lanterns in several different colors. It was so pretty and completely transformed the room. It was a fall theme with mason jar centerpieces filled with dried leaves & flowers. Everything was gorgeous.

I’ve seen a lot of barn weddings use actual apples in peck baskets as escort cards. You just have to cut out little leaves, write names on them, and then stick them into the apple with a toothpick. It’s even cuter if you can put the table near a real/fake/potted tree. I also agree with the string lights, wherever they fit. And play up those sunflowers. Have fun. 🙂
