We share the same wedding date! :) Congratulations... enjoy the last week and a half despite all the last-minute details!
I made my own programs using Adobe Illustrator. I think there are a lot of free programs (just search Google!) that will allow you to create a program as well. Make sure to send a draft to your officiant as well.. I was sooo glad I did, because he realized a couple mistakes I had made. Better to find out before printing 160 programs off! :)
Good luck and let me know if I can help!!
Thanks! I'll Google it first thing in the morning. Tomorrows my first day off in 2 weeks. So I have a full day of getting things done! Thank goodness! Congrats by the way!! Isn't it crazy how all of a sudden, its here!? whoa!
Woohoo! I'm Oct 2 too! I feel like I have a million things to do. I ordered my programs today and my favors should arrive this week along with my bridemaids gifts. I still need gifts for my parents...sheesh. I have another fitting Friday. Thankfully I will be off all of next week. Good luck ladies!
@Miss Kermie: Things Remembered is the perfect place for quick parent's gifts! I went with a very nice 8 x 10 frame that I had engraved with mine and my fiance's name and date of the wedding. We put in an old picture of us and wrote a note saying we would replace it with a wedding photo.
I know the picture frame thing may be over done, but it works for our parents because they'll literally keep it on display for the rest of their lives.. .I just know it :)
October 2 bride here as well. I am currently FREAKING out over the fact that the weather forecast is calling for RAIN! :( Please tell me I'm being a nut and it's too soon to tell. I normally would think that maybe it will change...but it's actually calling for rain for like the days leading up to and after the wedding! :(
Feeling like there a million things to do and didn't want to be in this state of mind at this point of the process. My sister got in a major car accident over the weekend, so I lost that weekend of planning. Fortunately, she's ok, but it's shifted gears completely.
What's left:
-cake details, cocktail hour centerpieces (15 tables - eek!!), table numbers (seriously STILL no clue), bathroom baskets (can't believe I haven't done these yet), oh - and somehow busting out pomanders for my aisle ;)
@sarahd07: OH NO - I'm crossing my fingers for you! Is your venue indoors?
Wow, a bunch of date twins!
This morning, I printed out my program and poem to go with the wishing well cards guestbook I'm doing. Other than that, I'm pretty much set - just little things to do. Mom and I are taking a shopping trip early next week to get ribbon and other supplies for the bouquets and bouts we're making (ordered bulk flowers online that will be delivered next Thursday).
There's also random things I need to get or do, like buy gel insoles for my shoes (they're not uncomfortable unless I'm standing for awhile... which I will be during the ceremony!) and a stick-on bra for my honeymoon (Convertible Jumpsuit from Victoria's Secret = LOVE, but doesn't work with my convertible bra!), paint my toenails, etc.
Basically, though, for the next week and a half, I just get to work on schoolwork (yay) and try to relax as much as possible. Eek!
@oracle: LOL...NOPE! We have an outdoor ceremony planned and then a tented reception. So we'll be fine for the reception. And we DO have a back up plan for the ceremony but it won't be as nice! *pout*
I'm currently frantic to finish testing for a raise at work so I haven't been able to think of anything wedding related. My mom keeps telling me not to put things off until the last minute, despite my request taht she stop mentioning anything wedding related. I still haven't picked up my dress, had a hair trial, printed programs, or done a ton of other stuff. Oh well, it will get done.
@sarahd07: OH NO!! I just checked the 10-day forecast and no rain is scheduled for Friday for you... let's hope that's the case through the weekend!!!
@oracle: Which one did you check? Both Accuweather and Weather.com say rain for Friday! :(
@sarahd07: I did weather.com! It only had a 20% for Boston, MA, but showed clear...
@leahb98: If it makes you feel any better, I have the same date and no dress!! Work has been insane, and I'm not off until the 30th. I am praying to find one this weekend.
@sarahd07: LOL - UGH!!!!! Maybe it will move through quicker - those weather systems sometimes do (well, at least out here... ) Hang in there!! It's been such a strange summer... go figure fall would act up too!
@sarahd07 Oh please oh please don't let it rain! I'm on the cape. My reception is indoors, but ceremony is outside. Plus, for pictures, I need it to stay at least partly cloudy. Perfect is what I'm aiming for, but please no rain. YIKES!
Today, what i've done. glued moss onto wood slabs for about 70% of the day. eek. Went to bank to deposit money so I can start payin some peeps. Picked up a few cases of beer for rehearsal. Got some candy jars. Now, I'm putting chalk board signs, and lace ribbon on mason jars, and then hopefully filling them. Oh crap, programs. I have to do that to TODAY. Ok, I just wanted to check in on the bee. Back to work!
Well bees, here we are! I am excited and nervous about my kids on the plane. It will be their first time on one and I am worried they will nuts LOL. All we have left to do is figure out some way to pack all this stuff and finish all the payments! Oh yes... the payments, ouch!
I am so mad at the weather report! I feel like it is still too early to call it but it is a little overwhelming at this point. I also feel like at least in philly it hasn't rained during the day for the past 7 weeks (I've been on crutches and have paid special attention b/c I can't hold an umbrella). Oh well hopefully a lot changes in the next 10 days.
I almost feel guilty posting here, ladies, because we're not stressing at all. :/
BUT we're also have a super low key wedding without a lot of the details you guys are all mentioning.
I just have to finish our escort cards (we're doing pop out stand up circles, I don't know how to describe them - basically a cardstock square with a round label (name + table printed) and the top half of the circle is cut out so when you fold it to make it stand up, the circle stands up and the card outside the circle bends down) - have to cut them all still, I just bought a mushy finger pad thing for my xacto knife, haha.
And we're writing our vows tonight.
I'm drawing our map (ceremony to reception, they're on the same college campus) today.
I'll pick up parent gifts and our last bridesmaid gift next week when I'm in Michigan.
That's honestly all we have left that I can think of.
@sarahd07: I feel the same way!!!! 10 days out and rain in upstate NY....just showers, 40 percent chance....hoping for a change in the positive direction!!!
Whoo Hoo 9 days!!!!
I still have to put together favours, ceremony and reception box, pick up menu cards and favour tags, get supplies for the limo ride and meet with out caterer.
I plan to have everything done this week minus a few details and that way if any thing comes up next week, it's not panic mode.
Oh and also clean my house, it's so much from all this wedding stuff!
I picked up my dress and dropped it off at FI's parents' place and emailed a pdf of our program to the printer. I still need to:
Put together programs
Put together cake platters
Have my hair trial next Thursday
Make name cards for the donuts (I'm framing them and putting them with the donuts so everyone will know what is what)
Take everything to the venue
Buy and arrange flowers in mason jars for the ceremony
Buy jars for the candy buffet if we still have it.
I'm nowhere close to stressed. My mom is freaking out.
I'm even more low key than daydreamwanderer! Ha! I am praying for nice weather ~ aka no 90 degree temps (i'm in South Carolina) & no rain! ha! We had "crunch time" this week so I am hoping to just relax next week!
To Dos:
I have final fitting today!
Pack for honeymoon
Find 2 small wooden framed chalkboards
Schedule a nail appt
Confirm our dog-sitter
Good luck to everyone & here's wishing for Clear Skies EVERYWHERE!~~
Hi Ladies - happy last single weekend and last full weekend to get all those little projects DONE!!! xo
We're going away (live in MN, wedding in NC). The only thing I'm stressing about is making sure we bring EVERYTHING that we need! Ugh and that long a$$ drive! :)
I don't have too many things to do besides, uhmm, a card box and figuring out how I'm wearing my hair
Everything else is pretty much done.
@shelbifox15: I've seen the small wooden framed chalk boards at Hobby Lobby if you have one near you. I also picked up two very cute ones at World Market.
I'm feeling a little better today. I still have a bunch of things to do....but I am calm. Thank goodness. Tomorrows my bridal shower and I can't wait! I need a bit of fun!!!
whooo hoo weather has been updated to sunny.... lets hope it stays this way!
It was 113 in Los Angeles yesterday... those gloomy skies are sounding very appealing!!! ...the grass is always greener on the other side, I suppose. Good luck, everyone!!!
2 more days!!! My house looks like a craft store has thrown up fall! I have so many tiny projects. Tiny stupid things....BUT, I think I', ok with it. Good luck ladies and I cant wait for recaps! CONGRATS!!
@leahb98: LOL - so true "looks like a craft store has thrown up..."

OMG, ladies. I haven't even visited the bee in what seems like forever. I've been on the go go go. Hair appointments, nail appointments, makeup trials... shopping....yadda yadda yadda. I finally nailed down my centerpieces. I knew what I wanted for so long, but had a hard time getting what was in my head to actually work. But i did it and, phew! What a relief. I'm using lots of dried flowers and grasses and putting them in mason jars w/lace around the top. I'm putting that on a wooden slab covered in moss and then a birch candle holder. Its a fall/rustic wedding and it works. But, I still have a million and one things to do...like programs! How do I make programs? grrrrr. I dunno. I'm stressing a little. I can play connect the dots with the zits on my face. I know everything will be fine, I just have a crazy work schedule which is making things difficult. How are the rest of you doing?
