Last Dance: Haven’t decided yet

Any must play songs: “All the Things I Have Done,” by the Killers. Requested by the groom because he and his groomsmen have a…erm…special memory where this song was playing in the background, and they will all know why it’s playing the moment it comes on.

Obviously, we’re cutting out a lot of the “normal” dances. We thought the garter would be awkward for us, and we figured the wedding party would all feel awkward dancing with each other because they don’t know each other. We’re not doing parent-child dances because I don’t have a good relationship with my father, and it would be weird just doing a mother-son dance. Money dances are not done in my region, and people either wouldn’t know what we were doing or would think it was grabby and tacky. We considered an anniversary dance, but my mother and my FI’s aunt are both very ill and will be tired by then, and we have some mobility impaired guests so…we just cut it since a lot of the married couples might not be able to dance anyway, and we don’t want them to feel obligated.

We aren’t doing a garter/bouquet toss.  We also don’t have a bridal party.  I’m going to have my Maid/Matron of Honor wait up front with Fiance and Bridesmaid or Best Man (my brother).  No father/daughter dance as my dad has just passed.  His mom wants to do a dance, but I have no idea what.  FI also thinks it’d be weird for them to dance, but me dance with no one.  I personally don’t care.

Must haves

*[Insert FI’s Name] and I are out of touch regarding what’s played on radios these days.  We’re pretty much 80s/90s music fans.  We’ll be happy with whatever you choose to play along with this list*

Our thoughts regarding cocktail/dinner are to play soft music such as jazz, Frank Sinatra, Smoky Robinson, Dean Martin, etc.  It’s nice and relaxing and related more towards the older crowd.
