Hey Girls!

Can you believe we're down to four months already! Crazyness...

So, how are thing going for you guys? I know it helped to calm my nerves... and get my butt in gear the last time we all compared what we had done so far (In the 6 month post).

What's the most stressful thing for you right now? Anyone having those dreaded wedding nightmares? (I am...)

I'm off to work on invites all day!

You just gave me a mild heart attack - 4 months makes me stress. It's a happy stress though. I guess 3 months is worse but still. I can't wait to actually get married but I have so much to do!

• We have everything booked.
• I have my first dress fitting next weekend.
• I have the invites, table numbers, programs, and table signs designed but not printed or assembled.
• 3 out of 5 BMs have their dresses ordered.
• Picked flower girl dress, waiting to see it.
• We have the groomsmens ties and BMs presents.
• Finished the BM jewelry yesterday! Whoo hoo!
• I made my hair flower last weekend.
• Ceremony songs are choosen.
• Ceremony is written.
• Ceremony accessories are all bought and ready.
• Groom is fully outfitted minus a shirt.
• T-shirt favors are designed and currently being printed.
• Rehersal dinner is set. Invite is designed but not printed.

We still need to pick our menus and go through the reception area with the DOC. I need to buy presents for the parents and shower hostesses. I have to make a "Must Shoot" list for the photog and schedule her. We need to buy songs for the ipod... like 100+ songs! I keep checking my Martha "checklist" and it just freaks me out. 60 tasks out of 140 something is rediculous! One task at a time... I think the most stressful thing now is the stuff I can't control - like, is it going to rain?! That's my fear...

What bad dreams have you had?!

Hey Tee!

I didn't mean to give you a heart-attack, but I feel that way too so know you're not the only one freaking out...

You're list seems pretty similar to mine... except nothing is done about the groomsmen or groom's attire and it's stressing me out! The girls are wearing truffle dresses, and I've had an image of the guys wearing dark khaki pants and white button ups but now I'm not sure!

Rain is defiantly my biggest fear too! I just try to not think about it.

I have dreams about the wedding being tomorrow and I have nothing done (the same amount that I have now). Sometimes people didn't even get their invites!

Well, I've sent save the dates, booked a venue, and bought a dress. And thats it. I'm freaking that no other vendors are booked but my wedding coordinator doesn't seem to be because she isn't emailing me back... I'm not crazy or a Bridezilla, right? 4 months is not too far away to book photographers and caterers?

@aloweha - Umm, no it's definatly not to early. Although maybe the island nature of your wedding coordinator is supposed to be rubbing off on you:)? I'd be concerned as well. Is there anything you can do on your own and just TELL her you booked things? People book weddings in a less than 4 months all the time so maybe she has an overall timeline she normally works with. I'd bug her!

Gosh! I know! I can't believe I'm a couple days shy of FOUR months!! So much to do!!

Tee, I am SO jealous that your ceremony is done! We have looked at ours, sort of have a clue, but we have no lesson and just a song chosen (I think). I would LOVE to have our programs designed already!!

Currently, I am mostly stressing out about my FI and his groomsmen's attire. I am also stressing out about the cost of my wedding attire. And I've also decided to make my own veil because none of the blusher veils I've found I DID NOT LIKE!!

I'm planning to cross off A LOT of things on my list this month! I can't slack off anymore! The past two months just flew by!!

Let's see - our day is October 3.

We've booked all our vendors and signed contracts/placed deposits for Caterer, Venue, Flowers, DJ equipment, ceremony musician, ceremony location. I ordered my dress and received it (fitting in July), all my girls and flower girl have their dresses, I have all my accessories, I am almost done with my girls' gifs and the kids bags, finished bathroom baskets, card box, and centerpieces. My FI designed all of our save the dates and invitations, they have been printed and tonight he designed the map to go with them. I published our wedding website. We reserved a hotel block. We've picked out all florals, menus, cakes, etc. There's not much left to do but send invitations, do the dress fitting, get my FI's tux and men's tuxes picked out, make programs, and a few other DIY things (aisle runner, anyone?), and favors - which my FMIL is making homemade truffles for. Deciding whether or not to do a candy bar. I can't wait!

@ j_nicolle: I know it sounds like a lot but I made a list on the Martha Stewart site and it totally helps. She gives you a timeline and the basics and then I added all my own projects and deadlines. It's so comforting checking things off. Plus, she has things you may not think about like Day Before tasks and After the Wedding tasks. I gave up on my excel timeline since it just stopped being realistic...

@leenmachine: For our ceremony, our officiant had a few sample ceremonies on his site and I cut and pasted... then added my own stuff and voila'! I sent it to him to peruse and he liked the cut and pasted version! Haha. We went over the list of ceremony music and becuase we wanted it upbeat and modern my girls are walking down to "Can't Help Falling in Love" and we're leaving to the Beatles "All you need is love!" by our string duo. They were easy decisions for us. I'm walking to the token Canon in D... so I feel "bridal" or whatever October 09! - Four month check-in! : wedding october four months Icon Razz

Omg. Only four months October 09! - Four month check-in! : wedding october four months Icon Eek

Wow. I mean, this has went by really fast. Like so fast that I need more TIME. Ah.

So far, I have my dress ordered! It is being handmade for me, will get it in September. I'm placing the order for my veil this week.

I hired a wedding planner who has everything under control! Already had an example "room setting" done by a florist who I am hiring. I'm actually using him for everything that I need, all the rentals, etc.

We hired the band. Hired the photographer and videographer.

We have our invitation person working on invites, so that's done. Oh, our baker has the date reserved, and we're still working on the design.

I haven't done anything regarding the menu yet, but we're reserved ... haven't done anything about my sisters MOH dress ... no bridesmaids, I have to get my ring bearers outfit, my mom still doesn't have a dress, my dad has to order a tux and so does fiance.

• So far I haven't designed our catholic ceremony yet, so I have to do that.
• Haven't figured out favors.
• Haven't ordered shoes
• Haven't figured out hair and makeup situation
• Haven't designed our cocktail hour - which is not in the same area as reception
• Ordering my veil this week
• Dragging my mom and sister to pick our their dresses this week
• Still have to hire the cultural band ... who takes turn with our American band
• Figure out entertainment or music, whatever for cocktail hour
• Go on DIET AND BEGIN WORKING OUT TO TONE ....... ahhh I haven't started yet!!!!!!!!!!
• Finish designing our invites
• Get ring bearers outfit and figure out pillow situation
I have to say that I'm carrying no stress regarding my wedding at all. It is because I hired an amazing wedding planner that I pay to carry it for me. She has it all covered. I'm just obsessively looking at weddings and stalking wedding websites for all the wonderful details I would never think of!!!!

I hope I can get in touch with her too. But it's looking unlikely. I would like to just book things myself but the reason I hired a coordinator is because I don't know anything about or anyone on Maui and needed a resource. Also, they only work with 'approved vendors' so even if I found someone and booked myself it would cause a thousand headaches on the wedding day because the coordinators won't take care of the other vendors stuff. (i.e. won't make sure the catering is all set, photographer is there etc etc.

I feel like I am the only one who gives a crap if this wedding takes place, or if anyone eats at it. Everyone around me keeps saying "don't worry, don't worry" Uh, if I don't worry about it, it seems like no one else will. Weddings don't just magically happen people... you have to organize them.

Wow everyone sounds like they are well on their way to having some fabulous weddings! I pretty much had everything done about two months after we got engaged which was four months ago. I have pretty much bought everything except my wedding shoes, memorial candle for FI little brother, wedding favors, wedding jewelry and still searching for the grooms ties!!!

MY BIGGEST NIGHTMARE IS IF IT SNOWS!!!!! WE ARE GETTING MARRIED IN THE AWESOME PAVILLON AND MY FLORIST IS COMPLETELY MAKING IT OVER, LIKE $3,000 MAKING IT OVER. THE PAVILLION IS COVERED AND HAS WINDOWS BUT THE PROBLEM IS THE WALK TO THE PAVILLION IS OUTSIDE AND A PRETTY FAR WALK SO IF IT SNOWS IT LOOKS LIKE WE WILL BE DOING THE WEDDING IN THE BALLROOM WHICH I DISLIKE. OH YA AND THE $3,000 MAKEOVER WILL BE USELESS AND CAN'T BE USED IF WE DO IT IN THE BALLROOM. :(

OH YA AND MY PARENTS AND SOME FAMILY WILL BE DRIVING FROM HOUSTON TO DENVER (WHERE THE WEDDING IS) AND HOPEFULLY IT DOESN'T SNOW BECAUSE THEY DON''T HAVE 4 WHEEL DRIVE.

@ MsHymanRoth - I am so glad I'm not the only one that hasn't figured out hair and makeup yet. I did send some emails tonight though! And good for you that you have no stress!

@aloweha - Hugs, girl! I'm so sorry it's working out like that for you! You have every right to feel like someone other than you cares about your wedding! Is there maybe someone higher up in the chain of command that you can contact. Are they though a resort or just one their own? Is it to late to fire them and find someone else maybe?

@tee - I actually started that Martha checklist today October 09! - Four month check-in! : wedding october four months Icon Biggrin. It is helpful. Thanks for the tip though!

Our DJ is doing our ceremony music too... which makes me nervous to a point. But the ceremony and reception is basically in the same place and he would already have the speakers and everything. Sounded like a good idea at the time... Is there anyplace that lists suggestions for walking in/out music or do people just come up with thing by themselves???

I've only been planning since March, so I don't have as much done as the rest of you, but I'm still more excited than stressed! So far, we've

• Booked ceremony & reception sites, florist, photographer, "baker", & contacted a DJ
• Finished the guest list (God, what a task!! and technically, we're still not done)
• Made website
• Made & mailed save the dates
• Got bridesmaids' dresses
• Almost completed the registeries
• Almost finished the invitations
• Booked a wedding night hotel
• Got a dress, which is being hemmed as I type
• Picked shoes
• Finalized ideas for decoration

We still have LOTS to do! Most of my time was spent making a timeline to-do list (a la Mrs. Daffodil) We've got to:

• Collect all our materials for centerpieces (and make them!)
• Plan our ceremony
• Pick out all the music
• Gather photos for reception & favors
• Make our favors
• Finalize our menu
• Decide on flowers w/florist
• Book a rehearsal dinner
• Make ring pillow & flower basket
• Address & mail invites
• Find & purchase gifts for the wedding party
• Get our rings
• Figure out hair & make-up
• Meet with the photographer & DJ
• Make our programs
• Figure out how to change my name

Wow, that doesn't seem like too much to get done - or maybe it's my timeline that makes me feel better. I don't like the ones from the Knot or Martha, because they make me so stressed that I'm not matching up to their timelines. Making my own let me prioritize & put things where I want them & have a nice visual to see what's coming down the pike.

I can't wait!!

• Bridesmaids' bouquets trial run
• Photographer booked

• Finalized guest list
• Created and mailed save-the-dates
• Bought fabric for table squares
• Booked honeymoon
• Practiced making favors

To Do:

• Pick officiant! Probably a justice of the peace.
• Find a carrot cake we like for the groom's cake, and figure out what grocery store has the best pies for the bride's dessert
• Design and send invitations
• Book engagement portraits (we have a free session - we just need to find a good date)
• Make "wedsite"
• Reserve hotel blocks
• Reserve wedding night hotel room
• Finish registry
• Give shower guest lists to the people throwing them
• Find a rehearsal dinner venue
• My bridesmaids and flower girl need to pick their dresses (they have pretty free reign to do so)
• Buy tablecloths
• Make bunting for decor
• Figure out day-of timeline
• Write vows

I've accomplished a lot and have a whole lot more to do! I'm happy with my progress, all-in-all.

@mowi322 I LOVE your timeline! I became engaged a month ago and we are set to get married on October 3, 2009...so the next four months seem a little overwhelming and stressful, no matter how many lists I make. I will be creating a similar timeline this week, it will def. put my fiance and I on the same page.

Good luck everyone!!

I was just thinking last nite that 4 months is going to be here before we know it! We have most everything in place, just little minor details. The other nite though I did wake up to go to the bathroom and couldn't sleep the rest of the nite. All I could think about was how everything was going to look for the ceremony, what decoratons went where and such, then it was on to the reception and then I just decided to get up!!

NOT DONE YET:

Grooms attire and groomsmen attire

Ring Bearer pillows and flower girl baskets

A few more decorations

marriage license

ceremony programs

wedding dress fitting

BM and FG shoes

DONE:

Invitations are ready to be addressed and then sent out in a couple of months

favors

Wedding dress, veil and tiara bought (tiara I found on ebay for $5.50)

jewelry and shoes for me

flowers

dj

ceremony and reception site

photog

etc.

Good luck on the rest of all of your plannings!!! I'm so ready to be married!!!!

I'm not getting married til the end of October so it still feels like 5 months :( I just want it to be here already! I've been planning for a year now!!!

I have almost everything done. I have about 25% left of the invitations to address, have my dress fitting (dress hasn't come in yet), have some reception decor to purchase, have to print out menus and programs, have the favors to purchase, have our cake tasting this coming weekend, and have to write out the place cards. I already have the supplies for most of this, I'm just waiting to do everything until I finalize it all! Other than that, everything is booked, appointments have been made, and venues are all taken care of.

A friend of mine is getting married in August when I saw her a couple of months ago she was freaking out because her wedding was in 4 months... I was like "wow, that does seems soon.". That conversation seems like it happened yesterday! Where did the last 2 months go?

I still need to

• Assemble and mail invitations
• Groomsmen attire
• Wedding party and parents gifts
• Order a whole bunch of stuff for the reception (toasting flutes, napkins, hand towels, sparklers)
• Dress fittings and alterations
• OOT bags
• Make programs and place cards
• Figure out centerpieces for our pre-wedding cocktail party

So I really don't have much to do now except for groomsmen attire and invitations. I'm sending out my invites in the middle of July. When is everyone else sending theirs out?

Hey people! Your lists are awesome! Thanks for the tip on the MS list, my excel one is getting out of control.

We're pretty much all set with the bigger things. We are getting to the smaller things and the details now. (Yay!) I still need a veil (my mom's making it) and shoes and whatever other accessories. The FG needs a dress. The BMs need shoes. I am designing my invites in Illustrator, but I think they're set. Once I get them back from the printers, I want to paint the edges! Yeah! I am sending my invites out mid- to late-August. We did STDs so everyone knows when the wedding is!

We are also moving at the end of the month, so I really need to get packing. ALL my belongings are moving into FI's house, which is the same size as my apartment. I am trying to purge a ton. It's emotional!

I'm sending my invites out early/mid-August for my 10/31 wedding. I'm sending them out a little bit early because a lot of the guest list is out of town. I did send out STDs so everyone knows the date, but I like to keep on top of people :)

Done- purchased garter, booked chapel, FI tired on his suit to find he's lost so much weight, he'll need a new one!

Working on- finalizing dress alterations, I'll order invites next week, finishing guest list and announcement list; once the dress design is done, I'll schedule an appointment for the alterations.

I love that our wedding is so laid back. THere's really not much do it, just deadlines to meet. I can't believe we're at 4 months though. I should enjoy the downtime...

Everything is going well as far as the planning is going.

I have had one wedding nightmare and it was so bad, I needed to be held after I woke up. I had a dream that all of these univited guests showed up at the wedding and were being disruptive during the ceremony and would not leave when asked. So one of my bridesmaids got into a brawl with the miscreant guests. Then my fiancee morphed into my father. I was sweating...that's how bad this dream was. I don't know what it meant, but it freaked me out. I am excited that we only have four months to go, but I am so anxious for the wedding...I want to to hurry up and happen! I have no patience.

Seeing all these lists is a real motivation to me to get things done!

@Grey56 - I'm also moving at the end of the month. Talk about overworked. FI and I are remodeling a place and have until the end of this month to get it done. We're still working on the drywall! So wedding plans, and DIY projects, have been put on the back burner for now.

Has anyone done thier engagement pics yet? I feel like I'm behind on that but don't know if I really am... we're planning on doing them sometime next month after the move.

For anyone who likes the timeline, I got it from Mrs. Daffodil. Check the wiki for timelines & you'll see it. Mrs. D is the queen of wedding organization!

@aloweha...It is NOT too early too book your vendors for Hawaii...I've done the leg work myself and have gotten a lot accomplished on my own without a coordinator...I would suggest picking up this magazine I found at any bookstore called Pacific Weddings just to look...it has been my bible for booking my destination wedding in Hawaii...

I have everything booked: ceremony, reception, officiant, photographer, florist, DJ, cake, make-up...now just focusing on details like favors, centerpieces, music, etc...I also asked my friends who have been married in Hawaii for referrals too!!!

@mowi322...awesome overview!!!

Making the to do list on here makes me want to break out in hives. But I have found a dress, booked the reception place and houses for guests to stay in, we wrote the cereony and picked songs. Need to figure out what FI will wear as well as his guys. It is getting there!

I'm also in my stage of GROW THE HAIR OUT and DON'T EAT LOTS OF SWEETS, both of which are things I'd rather not do. Having healthier eating is never a bad habit, but I WILL chop my hair after the wedding. :)
