I just wanted to check on everyone getting married in October. What are you current projects, how are you feeling, have you ordered your dress, picked out BMS dresses, etc?

Well, I have picked my dress, but haven't ordered it yet. I can't wait until I can order it..I am so anxious! I have picked out my BMs dresses, just waiting to order them until April.

I'm okay...we're SO CLOSE to signing the contract with our vendor, and after that we'll immediately sign with the photographer.  I have my dress, one BM has her dress, and the other two will be ordering theirs next month.

After that, we have to hire a DJ and most of our big decisions will be made!  I think the biggest thing I'm anxious about is the fact that I just want to have all of this settled now!!  I won't know what to do with myself once these decisions are made and this stress is gone!!

jk...there will always be something else to stress about, right?

I've got all of the big things out of the way quick and early.  I just don't want to deal with it leading up to the date since I'm sure I'll be stressed out enough as it is!  My dress, bm dresses picked out, mob dress, my shoes, venue/caterer, flowers, cake, photographer, dj, invite collateral and registry are all done.

What's not done is: favors, centerpieces (we're not doing floral centerpieces), gifts for wedding party, flower girl dress/shoes, Groom's attire, groomsman attire, gift for FH, deciding on a hair salon, transportation and logisitics.  I know I'm forgetting something in this list.  But just thinking about it overwhelms me.

    Hello fellow October brides!

We have a lot of the "big" decisions done: photographer, caterer, location, STDs (just ordered), Invites (design is ready, not ordered yet though), flowers, cake, makeup artist, music, my dress, his tux, rehearsal dinner space

    What we have left:

    ALL of the DIY projects:

-invites, water bottles, place card holders, escort cards, large monogram letters, favors, programs, menus, table #s, napkins, hair accessories, OOT bags, games (we are having games throughout the day...have to make/decide what they are), smore bar

    DETAILS TO DECIDE:

-MOH dress (we only have one attendant each so this is pretty easy, but we are going to hit this in the summer)

-Hair and other bridal accessories (veil/etc)

    -still need to order alcohol

    -order MOH and BM gifts

    -order parent gifts
    -transportation for guests to/from event
-rehearsal dinner invites (i volunteered for these. already had some print-your-own invites that I bought to copy a template from at michaels 50% off so I just need to do them...)

We are rocking and rolling along and honestly most of the big stuff was finalized last week. To be honest though, the little projects are what is stressing me out!!! There is just so much to do on the DIY stuff. The devil's in the details, ya know! :)

We've got all the big things done - venue, photographer, DJ, STDs, florist, my dress, BM dresses

But there are a million little things on my mind! We just ordered the pieces for the invitations, so thats next. And then hair/makeup, favors, OOT bags, BM/GM gifts, programs, table numbers, and on and on...

@stephinPA- glad i'm not the only one!! :)

what types of gifts are you looking @ for your wedding party? that is one thing i just have no clue about...our attendants are our siblings only (one each).

Seems like it'd be easy, but nothing has really caught my eye yet...

I only have 3 bridesmaids, so I'm ordering robes for them with a monogrammed initial from LandsEnd.  Then heading to TJMaxx and doing a spa type basket for each of them and slippers.  This way when we're all getting ready, we'll have our robes on, etc.  I'm ordering one for myself too that says Bride.

For the guys, my FH hasn't a clue.  But we don't want to do the standard mug/flask thing.  Over done.  These guys are older and probably have a bunch anyway.

    Aaah 8 more months now!

Done is the venue, photographer/video, cake, std sent, picked out decorator/florist

Need to- Hire DJ/ceremony music, favors, dress!!! and so much more

I'm considering DIY invitations right now, they are sooo expensive! So trying to cut the budget here since most people just throw them away. FI and I were looking at the budget yesterday- we started off at 15k, then 18k, and now we up to 22k! ayayay

Also now I'm going nutzo with my color theme! First it was Champagne, Ivory, Deep red, and a hint of antique gold. Now I'm thinking of adding a hint of black in to the mix? What do you guys think? Too much???!!!

    ayayayyy

@EFRAU - so the colors you mentioned...you are wanting to have all of them?  I like champagne, ivory and deep red together.  I don't know about adding black?  What element would that be?  I guess it would be easier to visualize if I could see the colors all together, ya know?  And i hear you about the budget...ours started at 15K and we're now at 20K.  What?  Seriously?

@stephinPA- You know how black came about? Well I was watching figure skating and there was this one girl wearing a sparkly gold and black outfit with a red rose in her hair and I just though that was so pretty! So I really do not know where it would fit in, it just looked pretty! I'm going to see what my decorator can do.

Yeah! Budget kept going up mostly becasue of our venue selection. FI and I did the calculations and is's going to cost us roughly $110 for each guest; that includes food, drink, favor, and ceremony seat. And it's just little things here and there that get added along the way. That 22k budget doesn't even include my dress, tux, rings, bridal party gifts that we agreed would not come out of the wedding budget and we would pay individually

At EFRAU, I like the idea of adding a little black.  Your colors are very similar to mine, we are doing black, gold, bronze, champagne.  Good luck and have fun!

Oh...lol, I guess I forgot to add what I have done already.

We have some things done: wedding party, venue, ladies' dresses and accessories picked out, most of my wedding party gifts purchased, dj, cake baker (mine and his), photographer, videographer, possible caterer, hostesses accessories purchased, Junior Bride's outfit done (minus shoes0guest list pretty much done, FG's dress picked out, my accessories purchased and invitations in the making. I just feel so behind. I think that if my dress was purchased (I have already picked it out) then I might feel better. Am I behind or am I ok?

EFRAU, you can add black in small details. Maybe it can be the table linens..maybe even the girls' shoes and guys' tuxes.

Oy, for us, the main issue we're having right now it house buying. There's still a lot of wedding stuff needed, but the house we have a contract on right now is the priority. It's been really stressful!

I still need a caterer... that's stressful too.... ugh

We got engaged last May which seems like a lifetime ago.  And here it is almost March 2010.  The time between May and March flew right on by.  And we're 8 months out which technically seems like a long time but holy cow, it's going to be here in the blink of an eye.  Is anyone else feeling like this?

I try not to let myself think about the timeframe because when I do I just get anxious over the things I still need/want to accomplish and the money needed to do them.

We are kind of at a lull right now, which has me super worried.  Our STD’s went out yesterday so that was major. All of our vendors are hired, contracts are signed, and first portion deposits are complete.  My dress has been ordered; bm’s know their designers and are ordering their dresses on their own.

At the moment I am working in filler projects – music, OOT bag ideas, candy bar candy, and starting to begin the invitation proof process.

I am feeling bummed b/c I don’t want there to be something that I should be doing and I am not. Its kind of tough, you know….

    We have Church/Priests/Venue/Photographer/DJ/Florist/Cake/Lighting

I'm just still in back and forth with potential caterers and with an offer in on a house, that's taking all my energy right now, especially being tax season... which I still need to do. lol

    HEY BEES!!!

Yay for October brides-- it will be here before we know it!

Save the dates are out and all of the big stuff is done. All that's left is the little details pretty much, but really a lot of that is kinda done too. I've even printed all my invitations and worked on the ceremony program! I DO have my boudoir coming up next month-- need to get that ass in gear at the gym :)

I feel like I have done so much so I am in need of some filler projects... but being on wedding bee has also been filling the wedding lull! We've been engaged since LAST October 2008 soooo I too did a TON right away.

I am also consumed with house buying! KLP: girl, I feel you!

When are you all ordering BM dresses? I'm thinking next month... which is like NEXT week! crazy!

Not gonna lie, I'm worried that if/when we get this house or another one, we'll have so much other work getting done that sending STDs and other things will fall by the wayside.

    Have:

Venue, Dress, bridesmaids, 3/4 BM dresses, some music, some photography, cake, veil, invite paper and envelopes, know the shoes I want, working on a million other projects, collecting jars/ vases/ etc.

Need: Caterer, design invites, finalize guest list, get 4th BM to pick/ order a dress, STILL have to set a budget (the ONE thing FI is dragging his feet on), finish million other projects.

Gosh, I feel like I'm constantly taking three steps back for every two forward. Ah well, it will get there, right?

    Right?!

October seems as though it's just around the corner! where did the time go? Congratulations to all the fellow brides!

As an October bride I can say that all the big things (ceremony, venue, dress, DJ, photog, videographer, decor) are all taken care of.

I'm mainly just waiting till I know if the BM dresses will be sage or blush pink to know the color to pick for the wedding linens and coordinating flowers.

I'm getting a little antsy about the BM and MOH dresses but, that should be squared away hopefully this weekend. My sister who happens to be my MOH is currently taking the CA bar exam this week so I'm waiting patiently for her to be done so we can pick the dresses out.

My hubby to be is designing our invites and all wedding stationary. STD's I have the idea locked down but when is a good time to send them out for a wedding in October? I was thinking maybe April??

Good luck to all my fellow brides and most importantly remember to enjoy it all.

I haven't ordered my dress yet, but I've picked it out. I'm gonna wait until next month. I've picked a photographer and just waiting for him to send us his info for the down payment.

We've found a new place to have our wedding dinner and will check it out as soon the all this snow subsides!

I just sent mine a week or so ago. I was going to wait until March but I have a bunch of OOT guests... so glad I did too-- found out a good friend has a wedding on my day too! I was shocked since I didn't think Sunday was too common! Luckily it's at 1 and mine's at 3 so hopefully they can make both

What favors are you ladies doing? I had a hard time coming up with something creative. We were going to do carmel/chocolate covered apples but it was going to be too much work before the big day so we're doing leaf shaped bottled maple syrup. I'm still open to ideas though and would love to hear what you're all doing?!

Thanks for the tips ladies. I'm thinking April will work.

Habibah--My wedding theme is old Havana so I'm having a vintage inspired Candy bar for our guests. Lots of candies to make my older guests nostalgic.

I have most of the big things done. I still need to figure out DJ, florist, make-up, hair, and some rentals. I got all my BM's their dress order info today and found out yesterday my dress is in!! It wasn't supposed to be here until May! We have e-pics in March so I have been busy figuring out what we will wear. Then I will figure out and send out STD's in April. October will be here so SOON!!

@KLP-- I am, too! We can't hire a caterer without a budget, haha. *Sigh* I gave FI a deadline til the end of the month to figure out how much we can spend and hopefully we can move forward after that. I'm getting nervous, though-- my date is popular, and the longer we wait the more expensive things will get!

KLP- Believe me I know, haha. Problem is, all of mine's taken care of-- it's FI and his family that I need to know about (what his/ their budget is). Still working on that. One day at a time, one day at a time. :)

Good luck finding a caterer soon!

@KLP2010 - good luck with the house! We are under contract for a house also (closing March 30!) and it definitely put the wedding planning on pause for awhile! Now that we've gotten through all the inspections and negotiations we are back to concentrating on the wedding - at least until we close and move!
