I love weddingbee!..the October 2011 Board has arrived :) Any other bees out there?
@Trixie- yay! it does seem not too far away now that we can say "next year"!! (eeeeeeeeek!)
lets keep each other posted on our planning progress! So far we have the church and reception venue booked. My next task is to research a caterer and photographer 
Already I'm behind ha ha. We've been looking at venues - we're going to have the ceremony and reception at the same place. We like one place and will probably book it this month (it keeps coming up as our favorite one). That's awesome that you've done that much so far. I can't wait to solidfy some of my ideas. I love this site!
*waves* Hi October 2011 bees! We're getting married 10/01/11 (we're big nerds and we chose it because its a binary wedding date).
So far, I have just been doing lots of research and budgeting and planning. I'm planning a low-budget, not-so-traditional, but Italian-themed wedding. I want to book my venue ASAP because in the DC area, there are not very many venues that fit our low budget!

I am officially an October 2011 bee and wayy to excited for words!! I spend most of my used to be boring work day planning my wedding and dreaming about colors and flowers! I love it!

haha, yep sounds about right. my work day definitely consists of wedding inspiration collecting, weddingbee buzzing, and alittle work.

How is everyone's planning coming along? We booked our venue - it's an art gallery! I really love it.
Planning is going well so far. I am waiting to here on some pricing on the venue. It is Medinah Country Club and Im really hoping we can swing it. These are some colors I really like.

I'm newly engaged (2 days ago) but we already know the wedding will be sometime in October of 2011. I've already done a lot of "pre-planning" by stalking these boards, among other things, but now I'm just excited to start making definite plans.
Now- what the heck do we do first??! :)
Hi Everyone! This is my very first post on weddingbee, I'm so excited!
We haven't picked our exact date yet, but we know it's in October of 2011! We've decided on having it at a beautiful golf club in Calgary, Alberta, and we want to wait till golf season is over here so there aren't a bunch of drunk men hanging around haha.
I have to wait until March to book the venue, but I've picked a photographer, and that's about it!
I know we are going to have a morning ceremony and a brunch reception because we didn't want a dance, and we don't really drink much, so it didn't really fit us to have a traditional dinner reception with dancing. Is anyone else doing something similar?

We are getting married in Oct 2011 as well! We haven't booked a venue but we want to do it the 1st or the 8th! The first two Sat of the month so it's still kinda warm and it will look so pretty with the trees changing colors!
To me it feels like a year in a half is sooo far away! I just want it to be next year already! I can't wait to marry the man of my dreams :)

@golfgal25- its almost March, then you'll have the venue & photog nailed down, 2 HUGE vendors. I've yet to get my photog as of yet..need to get on that!
@Miss Bella- Year & a half is still far away, but for me its going fast actually! it'll be here before we girls know it!!

Congrats to all you Oct 2011 bees! For the past 8 months we've been engaged, I've been mostly resarching venues and getting some wedding inspiration. We're having a very low-budget, intimate wedding (champagne wedding on a beer budget). No venue yet, but hope to book something in the next month or so. I, like Miss Bella, also want to get married on the 1st or the 8th.

is it just me (eeek i hope not)? or have you all been paying attention to the recent "2010 October" boards and seeing their progress/ their to do lists at this time of the year (march) and taking note of what you should be doing next year (march 2011)?
ha! does that make sense?? it makes me excited!!! and yet scared that i have soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much to do!

@krissybee I also was so excited when I was able to say I'm getting married "next year"! We got engaged in November and even though it wasn't that much different months wise it felt so good to say it haha...and hello all other 10/11 brides :) We sure have a lovely month/year number!
October 29, 2011 in da houssssssssssseeeeeeeee! What's up 10-11 bees??? We've got a venue for the ceremony and reception, and I've got a longggggggggg DIY list. Having an official "meeting" with the FH tomorrow about the budget - yuck! Hope it goes well....

QUESTION FOR ALL: when are you / or have you started dress shopping????
OOH, I have started dress shopping. Fell in love three times already, you can read my post here about it http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/im-a-dress-floozy-the-shame
But, as the budget becomes a reality, I am thinking of hitting a discount bridal store in the area to see if I can find something similar for less. This has definitely been the most fun part (except when I took the mothers and that was a freaking disaster).
@ktbrady- i'm also a stalker of Jim Hjelm gowns!!! your dresses you posted are beautiful!! but i hear ya about the budget!
i think i'm going to start shopping in the summer... maybe purchase a year out??!! i don't know.. i worry if i buy tooooo soon i'll find something else, and if i wait too long, it may be a time crunch to actually get the dress and have ample time for alterations 
Yay!!! Other October 2011 brides! We got engaged on Jan 1 this year, and I'm kinda bummed 'cuz the wedding seems so far away...
Our first choice date is 10/08/11, although we'd do 10/22/11 too... FH likes even numbers, lol!
@krissybee, I'm also worried about when to dress shop... I'm so afraid I'll find something too soon, wait on it, and then it'll be gone...
hey @HisButtercup !! so glad to see ya on this thread. Yeah, we still have a ways to go, but it will go fast. Before we know it we'll all be 100 days out and think "where did all the time go?!" :D
the dress is one thing about a long engagement that is kinda worrying me.. just don't know when is too soon..when is too late!!
Public service announcement to my month sisters.. We have been venue hunting and so many places already had 10-1-11 booked! The venue we fell in love with and booked today said that October books with them quicker than May, June, or July! Crazy. So glad we got this part locked down so we wouldn't miss out on this awesome place.
I know (some) ppl say we're crazy for starting so early, but I'm glad we are!
@abbee if you're crazy that i'm beyond bonkers! we booked our venue in january and i already got my dress/veil/headpiece - nothing wrong with being pro-active lol! yeah for october brides!
Just booked our venue for 10/1/11 in Nantucket island! 500-some-odd days to go- can't wait!

I got my dress, I'll be sure to get pics when it gets in later this month or early next month. It is Alfred Angelo 801 dress on the left and they're adding the sash from the dress on the right in a light gold. Sorry for the small pics!
Hi October Bees! I can officially say I'm on Oct 2011 bee now...we settled on a date - October 1st! Looks like there are a few of us with that date already...so excited to share ideas with you all!

I am so excited bout this website, I have been married to my husband for 24 years, and we got married in my moms living room when I was 18. My 10 year old sister and I wrote the invites out in pencils we had no clue about wedding. Well long store short we have been wanting a real wedding since with the whole 9 yards since we can remember, 1st it was we will do it in 5 years, well no money, then we said 10 years, we were both in school (still no kids at the time), then we decided we would wait til I 25th, well hello, hello, hello 25 years will be here next year, the time flew bye. We hired a coordinator and we are going to have the wedding that we always wanted, I cant wait, I want me a wedding dress...omg I dream about it, I want an outstanding reception beyond elegant. oh and we now have 5 year old twins, I am 42 and feel like I am 20...smile. I need all the help and ideas that I can get, I have been readying bout wedding and learning everyone role, I even get to have a bridal party.....too exciting.

date twins: 511 days. woo hoo! i really need to get planning again though... all we have is the venue and church booked. I need to get the florist, photog, and catering booked by the end of the summer.

Congrats to all the 10/2011 bees! I got engaged in Nov, 2009 and the date seemed soooo far away. 700 days to be exact. Now we're down to 453 days! I have LOTS of ideas but nothing set in stone yet. I'm thinking about a ebay dress from China and ballroom "practice" shoes.
My avitar is a pic of the little small town church that we want have the wedding at. (The preacher was my honey's 8th grade science teacher)

Hello Bees! We got engaged on July 4th in DC. Our target date is 10/28/11, Halloween weekend! We live in the DC area but will be getting married in Cincinnati as that's where we are from. I am a little stressed about planning a wedding from afar but I know it will all work out.
I have my dress, engagement pics date booked, and we are going to secure a venue next month when we visit the area. we are torn between two places and are going to have to see what each feels like to decide. Most other details have been figured out as far as decor and plans for ceremony and reception goes. I feel pretty ahead of the game at this point. And I am super excited!!
