Hey Ladies
So I have been looking over these boards and notice no one posted anything about their venue. I feel the venue is kind of the center point of the event however, we never show it off.
Lets change that.
Where is your ceremony venue? Hyatt Regency Downtown Albuquerque (we will split the room and convert to full reception during cocktail hour)
Where is your reception venue? Same place
Show us your venue? Not the best pic but it is very cool (I promise)
How did you find it? I found it on Facebook, believe it or not and I didn't even want to see it but I am glad I did.
Is this everything you dreamed in a venue? I'm VERY excited about this venue, so yes.
Why did you chose this venue? We wanted something modern and after the hotel under went a $2 million renovation in 2010, this venue was perfect.
What made is venue stand out from the rest? I was almost in tears when I walked into the loddy. The posh, modern look was just in our wedding theme of "modern romance". They even offered our OOT guest a discounted rate to stay at the hotel.
Was this venue in your budget? Didn't think we can afford it but it was right in our budget. Thank Goodness.

I love your October posts!! And of course I love sharing my ring, dress, venue, etc.. so here goes! I love your venue, but I might be biased because I'm doing a hotel wedding too :)
Where is your ceremony venue? The Historic Hotel Bethlehem in (you guessed it!) Bethlehem, PA. The ceremony is in the smaller of the two ballrooms.
Where is your reception venue? Same place... cocktail hour is in the balcony overlooking the grand ballroom, then the reception is in the grand ballroom.
Show us your venue? See below!
How did you find it? It's a historic landmark near my hometown and I didn't even think to have our wedding there, but FI surprised me with a proposal and suprise venue visits! I actually always thought I'd get married at another venue, which FI loved, but it was too outdoorsy and rustic for me.
Is this everything you dreamed in a venue? YES! Vintage? Check. Elegant? Check. Indoors? Check. Convenient? Check.
Why did you chose this venue? We wanted a vintage elegant feel to the wedding, and the moment we stepped inside, we knew it was the one. It was built in the 1920's and is just gorgeous! I knew I had to have my wedding within 30 minutes or so of my hometown because I have a bunch of older relatives who aren't comfortable traveling, so my venues options were limited, but luckily we struck gold with this!
What made is venue stand out from the rest? Similar to you, just stepping foot in the lobby was breathtaking! The entire feel of the place was amazing. It was the most elegant venue we had seen, we could have reception and ceremony in the same place for OOT guests (plus they could stay there too for a reduced rate in our room block, score!), the packages were great, the coordinator was lovely, and I could just picture us getting married there. We also get a complimentary suite for the bride and groom, and all rooms and bathrooms have been updated recently - they look so cool and vintage and have Italian marble all over the floors and walls! Swoon.. and the staff has been SO accomodating even when I've been booking rooms for myself and bridal party, they gave me the reduced room block rate for the suites I booked which normally run for $300+ a night! Yay!
Was this venue in your budget? Actually yes. It was the most expensive one we looked at (only because of the stupid service fee - 20%!) but we wanted to keep everything at less than $100 pp, and while cutting it close, this worked!
The hotel:

The Mural Ballroom where the ceremony will take place:

The Grand Ballroom where the reception will take place:

This is the Riu Palace in Cabo San Lucas Mexico!
We chose to have a DW because we LOVE travel, the cost is great and we dont have to worry about inviting 3rd cousins whos phone numbers we dont even have in our cell phones!!

@Nicoley1985: I love it. It has everything on your list plus more, congrats. Also, I didn't budget in for that 20% service charge either :( but we also get a couples sweet for the night and they throw in breafast for our bridal party the morning of the wedding. So I felt everything balanced out, so I was happy.
@ReyDar64: Lol, I love your post because I agree. We are having kind of a DW because we just moved to ABQ for my FI new job so 85% of the guest are from back home. However, for those cousins we didn't knew numbers we told they if they want to spend $$$ to fly out to ABQ then come on, lol. We also band kids so in the end, I doubt we have those kind of guest.
Hi Everyone!
Everyone's venue looks beautiful! Here's the info on mine. I am so excited!!
Where is your ceremony venue? Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa in Jupiter, FL on the sand dunes overlooking the ocean :)
Where is your reception venue? Same place, on the brand new renovated terrace!
Show us your venue? See below! I put a couple :) sorry they're so big, I couldn't get them to resize...
How did you find it? I found it via a google search actually!
Is this everything you dreamed in a venue? Yes, EVERYTHING! I was torn between having the wedding here in Florida or back in my hometown area. I am kind of glad I chose here because it is so nice!
Why did you chose this venue? Once we decided that we were going to have the wedding in Florida, I knew I wanted to have a beach wedding. Since all of my family will be coming from out of town, I wanted to have the ceremony and reception at the same place, and have a nice hotel they could stay at. Everything is in one place here!
What made is venue stand out from the rest? The staff is so friendly and helpful, and both the ceremony location and reception lovation at the resort are so beautiful! The price was also very good for what we are getting, and I think the pictures are going to come out great on the private beach :)
Was this venue in your budget? Originally, I thought it was going to be out of the budget, but since we changed from a Saturday evening to a Sunday afternoon, we are saving over 40% on the price! So now it's easily in the budget and we don't have to worry so much about the $$.

The ceremony site

The beach and lobby

The hotel rooms, I cannot wait to stay at this place, the rooms are soo nice!
Where is your ceremony venue? A family friend's house on the river
Where is your reception venue? Same place!
Show us your venue? Sure thing!
How did you find it? My mother mentioned the possibility of having the wedding there after we looked at a different venue
Is this everything you dreamed in a venue? Honestly, I didn't really have a clear vision in my head of what kind of venue I wanted other than something beautiful.
Why did you chose this venue? It is drop dead goregous, and not to mention, free!
What made is venue stand out from the rest? The house and backyard are simly breathtaking, and again.. FREE!!!
Was this venue in your budget? Sure is! FREE!!!!
@musicjas3985: Wow, what a view. I love it. Glad everything worked out for you in the end. A Sunday wedding on the beach- wil be great. So this is kind of a DW wedding for you and your guest.
@spoiledvamp27: We all love FREE. Lol, what a great venue. Your wedding will be beauitful.
Where is your ceremony venue? Alpha Omega Farm and Polo Club, VA Beach Va (Also happens to be where I live)
Where is your reception venue? Same, We will do the ceremony in a large pasture next to the pond and stables. The reception will be held in a tent next to the polo field
Show us your venue? See below!
How did you find it?Wasn't too hard to find since it is our farm ;)
Is this everything you dreamed in a venue? Definitely, the farm is gorgeous. It is my absolute favorite place in the entire world and I couldn't imagine the most important day of my life taking place anywhere else. Also, all of my horses can watch the ceremony! haha
Why did you chose this venue? See above ;)
Was this venue in your budget? Yes, very much so ;)
My horse and me on our driveway
The stables this winter
Polo field, sorry horse is in way..

pond
pond/poolhouse
@aadam027: Very cool. Thanks for sharing. The horses will be so excited to see your big day :)
@cardnasac: Once again you rock for coming up with awesome content to get us October brides talking! Love your venue, actually, love all the ones that have posted so far, especially @spoiledvamp27's!!! My deets:
Where is your ceremony venue? St. Stephens Parish in East Grand Rapids, MI
Where is your reception venue? San Chez Flr III - The event space above San Chez Bistro that they own and manage.
Show us your venue? Below from blogged weddings.
How did you find it? Googling "interesting Michigan wedding venues"
Is this everything you dreamed in a venue? I had originally wanted a barn wedding but all the good ones were booked for 2012 but when we saw this we fell in love.
Why did you chose this venue? It totally fits our "book nerd" vibe we're trying to create.
What made this venue stand out from the rest? We walked in, looked at each other with big grins, and just knew. The exposed brick and ceiling, the view of the city, the half moon dance floor, SWOON!
Was this venue in your budget? Well within, surprisingly so!

Exterior

Although I love this, I don't think we'll be draping the ceiling or going with the long tables.

Like I said, SWOON! :)
Where is your ceremony venue? The volcano at the Mirage Casino in Las Vegas.
Where is your reception venue? Probably Stack, a restaurant at the Mirage.
Show us your venue? Sure!
How did you find it? Lots and lots of research. Las Vegas has tons of wedding venues.
Is this everything you dreamed in a venue? I've never really dreamed of a venue, but I do love it.
Why did you chose this venue? As locals we wanted something offbeat and fun without being a "Vegas wedding" with Elvis and a Cadillac.
What made is venue stand out from the rest? It's a friggin' volcano!
Was this venue in your budget? Yep!
The Volcano (seriously baller):

Stack, the reception venue (hopefully):

@phoenixandstars: OMG, beautiful. I love the details. "Book Nerd" lol, very cute. Also, thanks for the hanging out with me and my crazy boards. I am having so much fun posting these boards.
@Aure: LOL, yes, it is a volcano so I think you won for the coolest venue, lol. Very cool.
@cardnasac: Isn't it lovely not having to pay $50+ a plate for someone you dont even see once a year!?
Where is your ceremony venue? A small village church in England built in 1100
Where is your reception venue? oldest hotel in the city where queen victoria stayed and also queen elizabeth before she was crowned queen
Show us your venue? can't find many photos online
How did you find it? we saw a venue online we liked the look of and when we got there it was horrible, so we thought lets go look at ones we thought didnt look great this was a chain hotel so wasnt our first choice but went in and it looked amazing
Is this everything you dreamed in a venue? yes and so much more
Why did you chose this venue? me and my FI aren't into very modern things we like old fashioned things and this victorian ballroom was just so us
What made is venue stand out from the rest? It looked Amazing, the price was one of the best we had been quoted, and tbh i think i would have cried if we couldnt have it
Was this venue in your budget? yes and no, It was but now my contract at work has ended and isnt being re newed thanks to budget cuts, should be ok if i get a new job staart of feb

My venue is Southern Oaks Plantation in New Orleans. I was sold because I think it's just beautiful. My ceremony will be outside at night. It was right in our budget, which is fortunate, because my heart was set on it!
@almost mrs: Wow, I love it. I am a modern bride but I also love Old Victorian style. However, it can be hard to find (affordable) in the US especaily here in ABQ. Thanks for sharing.
@khf777: I first love New Orleans, so I know your wedding will be fun :) The venue is beautiful and a evening ceremony will be the cherry on top :)
@cardnasac:Thank you! Your venue looks great - very modern and classy!
I love this post... the venue's typically set the stage/mood/theme for the whole wedding, they shouldn't be overlooked! :)
Where is your ceremony venue? My fiance's family church. It's small but it has character and kind of mimicks our reception venue (something my mom pointed out while looking at photos, neat!)
Where is your reception venue? It's just down the street about 6 miles or so... called the Indian Springs Metropark Environmental Discovery Center. Long name, COOL PLACE!!! We totally feel like it's our diamond in the rough... :)
Show us your venue? Gladly!
How did you find it? RANDOM post on a site called Wedding Mapper... I searched through about 23 pages of venues one day and there it was... I never even knew it was there, but it's the only place we looked at in person and we just couldn't let it go.
Is this everything you dreamed in a venue? Yes... I had no idea what I wanted, until I walked into this building!
Why did you chose this venue? We wanted something different than the popular banquet style room at a hotel or a golf course, something that reflected us a bit more, something memorable and unique, but not TOO outragiously different.
What made is venue stand out from the rest? It's modern, but rustic. It's casual, but elegant. It's new and environmentally friendly, but has "old" charm and character. Kind of like my fiance and I... he's such and old soul and I'm current, classic and casual.
Was this venue in your budget? The venue rental was actually really "cheap" in the grand scheme of things, it's the cost of the exclusive caterer to the site that made us stretch out budget a bit. We decided it was worth it :)
The church....

The first view our guest will see of the venue as you drive up...

The lobby, hehe yup, it's an environmental center!

The main "banquet" area where our guests will be seated... one side is a beautiful, planked wood the other is a wall of windows overlooking a pond!

There's a lovely balcony for our guests to get some fresh air too!

And the outdoor space surrounding the venue is actually a wetland, so there are lovely paths and little gems like docks and wildflowers and rock walls :) We hope it makes for some beautiful photos... <3

Can't wait! I hope we have a beautiful day so we can utilize the whole property!
@HummusGal: Wow, that is a diamond in the rough. It is so everything on your list. Nice pick. Thanks for sharing. Check out our other October 2012 Bride boards.
Where is your ceremony venue? The Colonial Hotel in Gardner, MA (the ceremony will take place in the atrium and then during photos/cocktail hour they will open the wall and the atrium becomes the dance floor.
Where is your reception venue? See above
Show us your venue? http://www.colonial-hotel.com/index.html Unfortunately I couldn't get any pictures off the website. But, if you have a chance, take a look. It's beautiful!!
How did you find it? My fiance's older sister got married in '08 and we all stayed at the Colonial afterward, plus it's right down the road from my fiance's parents house.
Is this everything you dreamed in a venue? Yes. It's beautiful.
Why did you chose this venue? It just felt "Right" when we toured it. And they had our date available and was a good price.
What made this venue stand out from the rest? The sales manager, Mary, is super sweet and their packages include a lot of stuff and you can mix and match things if you want. For example, our package includes limo service from the hotel to the ceremony and back, but since we're doing both the ceremony and the reception at the hotel we will upgrade to a suite for our wedding night.
@FutureMrsNee: Thanks for sharing, the venue looks great. Are you inviting your OOT guest to stay at the hotel? I know I got a pretty good deal for our OOT guest at the venue.
@hummusGal & @phoenixandstars - your venues are stunning! Nice finds!
Where is your ceremony venue? Bearsville Theater, Woodstock NY. Hopefully outdoors!
Where is your reception venue? The same. Cocktail hour will be in the bar/lounge space, and the reception will be inside the theater space itself.
Show us your venue?
How did you find it? We've been going there for years, both to the theater and to the restaurant on the same site (which will be doing the catering).
Is this everything you dreamed in a venue? Aesthetically, not exactly. I love the lounge but the theater itself is a little bit of a challenge, largely because of the GIANT BLACK STAGE looming in the middle of it.
Why did you chose this venue? We wanted something a little different/offbeat. My fiance is a musician so a music venue is a great place for us to get hitched. We already have several years of memories here--and I love that we can continue to come back in the future and spend time in the place we were married.
What made is venue stand out from the rest? Well, it's a music venue! We looked at a bunch of barns, but we definitely didn't see another concert hall...
Was this venue in your budget? Yes. When we first started looking, I thought it was going to be at the high end; turns out I just had (unfortunately) unrealistic expectations about how much we'd be paying for what we wanted. All things considered, I think we're getting a pretty decent deal (in wedding terms, that is).
@starbuck: Wow, what a venue. I am so glad you found just what you was looking for. Thanks for sharing.
@tonights: STUNNING!!
@starbuck: Thank you!! I love that yours is unique too, that space will totally be transformed for your big day, would love to see it! The cocktail space is cozy :)
@tonights: Yes, it is. Wow, thanks for sharing. Check out our other October 2012 Brides boards.
Fun! I love seeing all the beautiful places that people decide to get married in!
Where is your ceremony venue? The Redstone Room at the River Music Experience in Davenport, IA. It's not at all a traditional wedding space - it's actually a concert venue. RME is a non-profit organization that promotes local music and music education in my hometown area.
Where is your reception venue? Same. We have the Redstone Room plus the whole 2nd floor lobby area, so we'll use the Room for the ceremony, shoo guests into the lobby for cocktails and mingling, and then let them back into the main room for dinner after it's been switched into reception mode.
Show us your venue? Sure! Here's the website, but I'll add a couple pictures at the end too. http://www.rivermusicexperience.org/Venues/Redstone-Room.aspx
How did you find it? I've gone to shows there for years and always loved the atmosphere and their organization's mission and was pretty excited when I found out they are available for weddings too!
Is this everything you dreamed in a venue? Yes it absolutely is for both of us!
Why did you chose this venue? The atmosphere is super awesome. It's a great blend of urban architecture and river roots culture (Davenport is on the Mississippi River which has a long and glorious musical history). My fiance loves it for the state of the art sound system that our DJ (a mutual friend of ours) will be able to use. My fiance's top reception priority was having a rocking dance party, and our friend has always wanted to DJ here so we were thrilled to give him the opportunity.
What made this venue stand out from the rest? We knew we wanted a non-hotel wedding, so we pretty much looked exclusively venues off the beaten path - art galleries, museums, etc. But since we both are musicians and love music, this one was the natural choice. And we love that our money is going to a cause that we both support.
Was this venue in your budget? Yep, fortunately! I was a bit silly and got my heart set on it before I knew the price, so even if it had been out of budget, I think we would be getting married there anyway... Luckily they fit exactly in our budget!

@ HummusGal -- That is so cool! I love the idea of a wedding at a nature center.
@cardnasac: Yes, we get a discounted rate for our OOT guests. I don't know how many people will plan to stay yet. We get a block of 10 rooms to start with I think, and if more people start booking we can add more rooms. Many of our guests live within 30-45 mins of the location so I don't know if they'll stay or not. The wedding is at 2pm and is over by like 8:30-9 so it would still be early enough for them to drive home if they had to work on Monday. We'll see!
@Hydra: Very cool, I love the venue. It looks fun and no traditional. I also wanted a non traditional hotel wedding space but in the end, I really liked the hotel space. Which was surprising because every hotel I went to, I kept saying it looks like a hotel, lol. Thanks for sharing.
@FutureMrsNee: We considered a Sunday wedding because we thought it would be cheaper but really the F&B mini was only like $500 more and we was planning on adding drinks so we was over our F&B mini so we just kept it on Saturday. We blocked out 15 rooms to start but I think we may need closer to 20. But we will see. Our wedding starts at 6:30 and ends at midnight, so even the local people might stay the night :)
@Hydra: Thanks girl!! Sounds like we both set out to find something unique and won! Your venue has so much style, I love it!! It will make your day even more memorable :)
@cardnasac: Yeah, at our venue Sundays were about 1-2k cheaper than Fri/Sat evenings. Plus, my cousin's birthday is the 19th and my mom's is the 20th so we wanted a day all to our selves!! haha
I knew for a very long time that I wanted a day/afternoon wedding because I used to be the Front Desk Supervisor at a hotel that did weddings and if I worked Friday/Saturday evenings I was the MOD (manager on duty) and I had to stay until the last person was out of the ballroom. Some nights I wouldn't get home until 12:30 or 1 and have to be up early the next morning to be back at work. I didn't want to do that to the banquet servers for my wedding. lol
I don't think night weddings are bad at all, if we were having our reception at a place that wasn't a hotel I probably would have done an evening wedding. I've been to plenty of evening weddings and they're always a blast, I just knew that I didn't want one.
I'm sure some people will stay the night, I'm figuring a bunch of people will head to the restaurant or something after the reception for an "After Party".
@FutureMrsNee: I never thought about the staff :( And yes, I would have also done a Sunday wedding to save $1-$2k. Thanks for sharing your story. I feel every bride has a fun story to tell, this is why I love this site.
