Hi! I didn't see an October 2013 babies board, so I decided to make one. Hope to get to know all you other October mama's well in the coming months. Let's do a little survey to make it fun!

When did you get your pos/what cycle day were you on?: Jan 24th at 7:30am/CD25

How many DPO were you before you saw that second line?: 12DPO and it was a super faint line on a Walmart 88cent cheapie. After work I stopped and got a First Response Gold Digital and Clear Blue Easy Digital to confirm. I did them at about 1pm (after a 5 hour hold)and got Yes + and Pregnant on both within about one minute! :D I got a confirmation at my doctor's office this morning, as well as a quantitative HCG blood test to see exactly how much of it I have in my system. Should be getting those results on Monday.

After how many cycles of trying did you get this BFP?: Two.

Estimated Due Date?: October 7th (I've always wanted a Fall baby!) :D

Is this your first child? If not, how many siblings does this sweet little bean have?: This is our first.

Have you told anyone/when do you plan to tell at least the important people in your life (family/best friends)?: We told my parents and I told my sister, brother and all of my bridesmaids (best friends) yesterday. We're going to tell my husband's parents and brother tonight (and maybe a few of his very close friends) and we will tell the rest of the world/FB in a few months. :) I know it's super early to be telling people, but if something should go wrong (God forbid!!) we would want their support and we are just glad to share our joy with them!

What symptoms have you been feeling (if any)?: Oh gosh, I feel like I have a whole laundry list of them.  Engorged/darker/sore nipples, period-like cramps. lower back pain, feeling like I have a bad cold and am pretty lethargic, heavy/fuller breasts, dry mouth, headaches...

Anything you've given up so far?: I am a big coffee/tea drinker and they are mixed reports on what teas are okay and which ones are not, so I just gave up black and green tea, along with anything that has chamomile or red raspberry leaf. I haven't read anything bad about Rooibos tea, so I drink a cup or two of that a day. No more artificial sweeteners, so Pepsi Max and Cherry Coke Zero are out and due to caffeine and sugar content, I don't think I'll be drinking the regular versions. I've switched from full caffeine coffee (a few times a day) to one cup of half-caff coffee in the morning, to help kick the headache, bc one measley Tylenol does not really help. =P I was not much of a drinker and I don't smoke, so I haven't had to deal with that. They say you can only take baths at about 100 degrees F, and mine are usually about 105, so I'm just gonna take cooler showers and skip baths altogether, to be safe. I also stopped eating deli meat (just in case) and I think that's about it? I know I may sound crazy, but I just don't want anything to go wrong!!

HAPPY AND HEALTHY 9 MONTHS TO ALL OF YOU FELLOW MAMAS! SO EXCITING!!

Oh and if you want, feel free to post those gorgeous pee sticks! haha

I don't have a good picture of the very first test (1/24 am, but here are the ones from 1/24pm), bc I was rushing to work and the line was really faint, it barely showed up in the picture.

@crazydogmom:  I'm a June momma but I'm home alone and bore. Tonight so I'm on the bee. Congrats to you! My birthday is oct 7 :)

Just wanted to say in relation to the tea, I read while Ttc that hibiscus teas cancaring on cramps, etc so you might want to avoid anything with that in it as well

I am so excited to be able to post here!

When did you get your pos/what cycle day were you on?: Jan 25, day 25 of cycle.

How many DPO were you before you saw that second line?: 11 DPO. The first test I saw a faint line and decided to try a second time - Another faint line. Ran to the pharmacy and bought a ClearBlue Digital and it said PREGNANT! (all four times, I might add. ;-))

After how many cycles of trying did you get this BFP?:  Four! Felt like an eternity!

    Estimated Due Date?: October 8th!

Is this your first child? If not, how many siblings does this sweet little bean have?: This is our first.

Have you told anyone/when do you plan to tell at least the important people in your life (family/best friends)?: We told all of our immediate family members and just a couple of close friends. We will wait until the 12th or 13th week to announce to everyone else.

What symptoms have you been feeling (if any)? Swollen, sore breasts. Dizziness and nausea. PMS-like cramps. Achy lower back. Fatigue.

Anything you've given up so far?: I enjoyed my last Starbucks yesterday prior to finding out that I'm pregnant! ;-) I'm a big coffee drinker, so I plan to limit myself to MAYBE a cup a day. I also cut diet soda cold turkey, and don't plan on drinking regular soda.

I am SO excited for us mamas-to-be! Here's to a healthy pregnancy!

@figgnewton:  I get little twinges here and there, but mostly I feel like I have full-on period cramps. I've felt like this every since 7DPO and I'm currently 15DPO right now. I also think I have started the "constantly peeing" thing. Sometimes I'll go to the bathroom and come out and not more than 10 minutes later, I'll have to pee again!! And it's not just drops. haha So crazy! Thankfully my dry mouth has all, but gone away, bc that was making my throat feel so sore! On another note, I think you should fill out the survey, so we can get to know you a little more! :)

Have you either of you been having any trouble sleeping? I had to stop taking melatonin, bc I heard that it's a no-no, esp this early on and I'm having a hard time. I've been trying to get by on one benadryl, but it's not really cutting it. I know it's considered safe to take unisom, but even when I take a half of one, I'm really groggy the next day, so I'm trying to avoid that and in the meantime I've been up several times each night tossing and turning.

@Jayhawkmama:  Congrats!!!! I love those onesies--how sweet. And isn't it just the biggest thrill when you see "pregnant" on that test?! :D

And I am a huge coffee drinker, too and there's no way I can just give it up--I get baaddd withdrawal headaches/shakes and I'm not nice to be around, so I'm going to just do one cup of half-caff in the mornings and hopefully that'll work. I've been drinking *at least* one cup a day for 10 years, so my body is definitely addicted to caffeine and I don't think I can go without it, but I don't want to drink too much and possibly cause heart problems or a miscarriage! So scary!

It sounds like we have mostly the same symptoms. Like pms on steroids! I have only gotten nausea here and there, but last night and in the wee hours of this morning, I felt some pretty strong nausea coming on, so this might be the very beginning of morning sickness for me. =/ However apparently morning sickness is a good thing, bc it usually means your hormones are surging like they should, so I guess I'll be okay with that. ;) By the way, we are only a day apart in our due dates, how neat!

Anyway, sorry I'm blabbing so much, I'm just so excited!

When did you get your pos/what cycle day were you on?: Jan 26, CD 40 (I O'd around CD 26)

How many DPO were you before you saw that second line?: 14 DPO. It's my first month temping and I didn't get a temp drop, so I decided to take a dollar store test for the heck of it. It was positive, but I didn't believe it until I took a digital the morning of 15 DPO. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of that test because it was 5 am. Might take another just to get a "Pregnant" pic!

After how many cycles of trying did you get this BFP?: NTNC 3 months, TTC 1 month

Estimated Due Date?: Somewhere between Oct 1 and 6. I have an extra long cycle, so it's difficult to pinpoint exactly when I got knocked up! I'll let the Dr decide!

Is this your first child? If not, how many siblings does this sweet little bean have?: First!!

Have you told anyone/when do you plan to tell at least the important people in your life (family/best friends)?: Telling my parents tonight! Probably going to tell DH's parents and our siblings in about 4 weeks. Telling the rest of the world in mid-March, which is my birthday, so it should be a fun surprise!!

What symptoms have you been feeling (if any)?: None. Zip, Zero, Zilch. Although I'm over analyzing everything! I've actually had more energy the past 2 days, but I think it's because I'm so psyched. I hope it lasts a while!!

Anything you've given up so far?: Had 1/2 glass of wine last night before I got the digital positive this morning. That will be my last! I'm also supposed to be going out for sushi this week, so I have to figure out how to get out of that. The one thing I'm freaked out about giving up is my anti-anxiety meds that I take for flying. I travel a lot for work (I'm actually going out of town tomorrow!) and I read that I shouldn't take my meds. Haven't had a chance to speak with my Dr because it's been the weekend. Pray for no turbulence or they might be peeling me off the ceiling!

Estimated Due Date?: Oct 4, but not 100% yet!!

Is this your first child? If not, how many siblings does this sweet little bean have?: First!!

Have you told anyone/when do you plan to tell at least the important people in your life (family/best friends)?: I had to tell my best friend because we were having a birthday party and i would have been busted because i normally drink lots of wine with my girlfriends! and there were jelloshots, i needed a partner in crime all night!! we are waiting until we hear a heartbeat to tell our parents and close friends.

What symptoms have you been feeling (if any)?: None yet.. i am excited to feel some!! I think it will make me less nervous.

Anything you've given up so far?:

    Wine, hottubbing!

@figgnewton:  My lower back is killing me, but I chalked it up to going on a work trip last week and spending 2 straigh days standing in fuzzy boots on concrete floors (plus two 5-hour flights in 3 days). Never considered that it might be because of the pregnancy!!

I have another trip this week, and luckly there was no one else in my row on the plane, so I kept squirming into all of these weird positions to get comfortable (which never happened!)

@ExcitedScaredBee:  You sound like me! I didn't believe it when I saw two lines, until I got that "pregnant" on the digital. =P Eek, I hope your flight goes well! I have to talk to my doctor about my anxiety medicine, too. I just take it daily (a pretty low dose) and I've already slowly weaned myself to a 1/4 of the dose I was on (which is so low they don't even prescribe it in that strength), so hopefully little bean will be okay. So worried!

@MrsHowarts:  Congrats! You're so strong for holding out on telling everyone. I couldn't keep my mouth shut! hahaha

That's nice that you and ExcitedScaredBee are not feeling symptoms yet...I feel like I'm having a never ending period, minus the blood! I'm not complaining though. Way too excited for this baby to even get bothered by all the things I'm feeling. I'm sure there will be lots of time for new and strange symptoms for all of us in the coming months. ;)

@figgnewton:  Have you noticed any differences with this pregnancy than your first? :) And YES. Lower back/abdomen feels like one big cramp/pain, nearly all day long. Ever since about 7DPO. And I cannot stop drinking water!! I drank 5 20oz bottles today and I'm starting my 6th right now! It's so weird how uncontrollably thirsty I am, but at least it keeps the dry mouth at bay for the most part.

    @MrsReyRey:  &  @MrsMaskatoBe:  Thank you both so much! :)

If you guys pray, please pray for me. I got the call from my doctor that my blood test was definitely positive, but my hcg was on the low side, so they want to retest me tomorrow morning to make sure it's increasing like it should. Logically, I know that this is most likely because I was only 13DPO when they tested my blood (6 days before my missed period), so it is really early, but I keep panicking and worrying that somethings wrong. :( So scary. I'm literally scared of everything with this pregnancy. I just want to make sure little bean is/will be okay! To help ease my fears, I peed on my last pregnancy test today and I didn't do any kind of urine hold. I had peed at least 3 times in the previous 3 hours and had drank at 60 oz of water, so my urine was EXTREMELY diluted (so much so that it was clear!), but my thinking was that if I still got a positive, it must mean my hcg was increasing. I figured that, because my first test there was the barest faint positive after a 7 hour hold with NO drinking, so with it being this diluted, I was going to take a line for a good sign. Well, it turned out to be the darkest line I've gotten yet, so I'm feeling much better in thinking that my hcg must have definitely increased quite a bit to be so dark after drinking so much water/peeing so much. Anyway, I'm a rambler, as you can see, so I'll shut up now.

@crazydogmom:  I only take my meds when I fly, but I flew last week (before my BFP) and I took 2 pills, so I already feel like a failure as a mom.

I did get in touch with my Dr before my flight yesterday and when I asked her if I could still take my meds, her words were "absolutly not!"

So I flew yesterday for the first time drug-free in 6 years! My flight was delayed 4.5 hours, 2.5 of which we were sitting on the runway waiting for takeoff, so by the time we were in the air, I just wanted to get there already. The flight was smooth, so I was ok.

I already have 3 more flights planned this month, and just thinking about them makes my heart race.

I may end up telling my boss sooner than 12 weeks just so I can get out of flying so much!

I think I may have started noticing some symptoms (maybe)

    1) My boobs are pretty sore, and (TMI) my nipples are much more sore than they normally would be from PMSing

    2) My eyes are super dry. I wake up in the morning and they feel like sandpaper!

    3) I can't seem to sleep past 4 am, and I normally have no problems sleeping in, ever!

    4) My lower back aches, but I still think that is from my fuzzy boots and not my pregnancy. I wore Pumas all day yesterday and my back feels a lot better.

That's it! Anyone else have weird symptoms?

How many DPO were you before you saw that second line?: 8DPO it was a super faint line on a first response test. I was not planning on testing until after a missed period but I had a weird feeling like I just needed to test. I went home after teaching a night class and took it and could not believe the line I saw. I took another one in the morning and had another faint line. 2 days later took a digital and it came out as Yes :)

After how many cycles of trying did you get this BFP?: Two.

Estimated Due Date?: October 5th ( I love October)

Is this your first child? If not, how many siblings does this sweet little bean have?: This is our first. Our other baby is our Bulldog

Have you told anyone/when do you plan to tell at least the important people in your life (family/best friends)?: We both want to wait till I am in the "safe zone". My husband knows and all you bees lol but no one else. We are planning on doing it at Easter Dinner, we visit both familys so we can get both done within hours in person lol

What symptoms have you been feeling (if any)?: Allot of period like symptoms.  Breast pain, heavy/fuller breasts, period-dry mouth, lots of ACNE, loving milk(I guess I need that calcium)

Anything you've given up so far?: I have my morning coffee with skim and sugar now instead of splenda, I have given up my afternoon coffee, makes me way more tired in the afternoon, I just wanted to make sure I dont overload of caffine. Sushi was automatic, along with booze, but I gave that up awhile ago. I will do anything I can to make sure I have a healthy baby. Anything in my control.

Ok, so I'm trying this again.  lol  This is my 6th pregnancy in the past year, but I have a very very good feeling about this one.  :)

When did you get your pos/what cycle day were you on?: Jan 26th at 945am/CD26

How many DPO were you before you saw that second line?: 12DPO and it was a super faint line on a FRER.  I did FRER's once a day for 2 more days before I did my first digi of the cycle and got a "PREGNANT"!  I also had a first beta yesterday with a result of 17, and I go for a 2nd beta tomorrow.  :)

After how many cycles of trying did you get this BFP?: 2 since the last miscarriage, but over 2.5 years since we started trying for our first.

    Estimated Due Date?: October 7th!

Is this your first child? If not, how many siblings does this sweet little bean have?: This is our 6th, but all others are angels (Angie, Dustin, Abby, David, and Rory)

Have you told anyone/when do you plan to tell at least the important people in your life (family/best friends)?: We told my parents (we live with them) and I've told my ttc forum friends, but other then that, no.  With so many losses, we want to wait until we at least have a successful beta series or if we can hold off, scan.  We have yet to see a baby on u/s, sooo....

What symptoms have you been feeling (if any)?: Sore boobs, cramps, nausea, lack of appetite, dizziness, forgetfulness, exhaustion, food/smell aversion, sick, dry mouth, craving for salt and chocolate.... but ya know what?  Bring it on!  I'm happy to be pregnant and hoping and praying that it sticks!

Anything you've given up so far?: Not really anything specifically for the pregnancy. Since I've been ttc though, I've given up processed sugar, simple carbs, gluten, and most dairy.  I'm crediting my lack of appetite for my continued weight loss and I'm now at nearly 100 pounds lost!

I'm just doing anything and everything I can to keep this baby happy and healthy and to have a successful pregnancy!

@figgnewton:  I'm eating some, but I wasn't eating a ton to begin with and now I'm only eating half of that!  lol  I've lost like 10 pounds in the last week!

@MissKabers:  Thank you!!  Congrats to you as well!  :)

@figgnewton:  I was when I started all of this.  lol  I weighed 278 (BMI was 42.5 and that wasn't even the heaviest I've been in my life!) in July of 2011.  As of this morning, I weigh 181!  I've really changed A LOT in the past couple of years.

@dodgercpkl:  wow! That's amazing!!!!! I weight 190lbs. Hoping to maintain my weight if I can or only gain a couple pounds. I think I might loose some because I don't feel like eating and I was a BIG soda drinker before I got preggo. We used to eat out like 4 times a week but now I quit soda and haven't had fast food. I feel so good! Better then before I was pregnant.

@figgnewton:  lol I'm so glad that I never got into soda.  That can make a HUGE difference in weight!  I've known so many people who lost like 20-50 pounds JUST by stopping the soda drinking.  As for fast food, it helps A LOT that I'm gluten intolerant. lol  All I have to do is just think of how I felt the last time I had gluten and all of a sudden I'm not longer interested!

My sil has been obese for both of her pregnancies and actually lost weight from both of them (and has 2 beautiful little girls!), so hopefully that will happen for you as well! I'm really ok with whatever this little one wants to do as long as I get to hold him/her at the end of it all.  :P  I can always lose weight after if I need to.  ;)

I'd love to eventually get down to about 160.  :)

@figgnewton:  I haven't noticed it specifically just when I stand, but I have a lot of random dizzy moments for sure!

Any other water drinking mommas on here?  I'm curious if anyone else has noticed that their water will go from tasting like water to tasting like water with lemon or orange in it?  lol ok probably weird symtom...

Does anyone have their first Dr appointment scheduled? Mine is February 8! They said they're going to do an ultrasound. I was stalking the September boards to see what to expect, and bees there had 6 and 7 week ultrasound pics and could hear the heartbeat. I'm so excited!!

@ExcitedScaredBee:  Feb 14th <3 is our first appointment(: I hope they do a dating U/S so we can hear a heartbeat or see one. I asked the receptionist on the phone and she said she isn't sure if we will but who knows! Good luck!
