Age/partner’s age: I’m 34, DH turns 39 in a week.
Baby # 2nd for me, first for DH
Cycles TTC this was the 11th cycle.
BFP story: we decided to give this month a really strong attempt, including dietary changes, natural supplements, OPKs every day, near daily intercourse during the fertile period. We’d been a bit lazy in the few months prior because we’d been having a hard time. I started testing 3 days before the BFP because I have been having symptoms and then this morning I got a super faint line on the cheap pregnancy strip. I pulled out the ClearBlue test and tested with that and it was a much more obvious line! I’m 12dpo today.
How many weeks / EDD? I’m at 4.5 weeks. I haven’t been to the dr yet, but based on my period, either very end of September or early October.
Team Green or finding out the sex? We haven’t discussed it yet. I’m a planner, so I would like to know, but I’m not sure how DH feels yet. I think he’s just in shock that it worked. 😂
When are you telling people? Any special plans in doing so? We’re waiting until Friday to test again and make sure the line is darker. We’ll probably tell family a few weeks after that. We won’t formally announce until the 3 month mark.

Congratulations, ladies!

Age/partner’s age: 25/25
Baby #: #2, We have a 16 month old girl
Cycles TTC: We’ve been ‘trying’ for 12 months, but my cycle did not return until November I am still nursing. We caught our second cycle.
BFP story: I took a few tests Sunday morning and told DH I wanted to go to the mall and get a few new outfits for our daughter. I picked up a “Best Sister Ever” shirt without him realizing, ans put it on her once we got home.
How many weeks / EDD? 10/5/18 based on ovulation
Team Green or finding out the sex? Green
When are you telling people? Any special plans in doing so? We are undecided when we tell close family and friends, likely around the 14 week mark. I don’t think we will do any social media announcements.

Oh wow!! My lines haven’t been changing very much, which is freaking me out. I’ve been drinking a lot of water, and waking up 1-2 times per night to pee, so I wonder if it’s just not as concentrated? It’s making me feel anxious though.

emeraldbee :  I would think the dilution with water would definitely do it. I’ve had several lighter tests too.

On a side note, I don’t drink caffeine when pregnant and am already dying. It’s going to be a long, worth it, 36 remaining weeks!

emeraldbee :  Hi bee, I am just lurking but I do feel like I see progression between 1/23 and 1/25. HCG is supposed to double every 48 hrs, so you shouldn’t expect to see a huge change between one day and the next, and certainly not between mlutiple tests taken on the same day. If possible I’d try to limit yourself to one test every 48 hrs taken with the same brand at the same time of day (FMU ideally). If you can get in for a blood test to check your HCG, that would be even better because it would spare you the stress of comparing lines and would give you definitive info about viability.

Baby # 1!

Cycles TTC This is technically the first because the first three months I wasn’t ovulating off the pill…but it felt like so long and I thought we’d have problems for much longer.

BFP story: I started taking tests like 5 and 6 DPO because I’m crazy. Stark white, but that didn’t stop me from keep doing it! I got a REALLY faint positive 8DPO at night and thought something was wrong with my Wondfos. I found out by Googling that mine were a part of a bad lot number. So I completely took it out of my mind that I was pregnant, and was convinced the tests were just messed up. I decided to take a First Response 10DPO (last night) to double check, but fully expected negative. The test was very clearly positive! I was in shock, and still am! But since last night I’ve been cramping, burping a lot, and haven’t slept well so I definitely feel some changes going in, which is relieving!

How many weeks / EDD? almost 4 weeks; EDD October 7, our wedding anniversary!

Team Green or finding out the sex? We will probably find out the sex….no chill here

When are you telling people? Any special plans in doing so? I told my mom, sister, and best friend right after telling DH, and he told his uncle/godfather. Otherwise, we’re going to wait until after our first appointment to tell the rest of the family and then until around 10-12 weeks to announce it. I’m not sure what we’ll do, probably a Pinterest-inspired announcement!

gardunobee23 :  I’ve cut out caffeine, as well. Thankfully I wasn’t a die hard coffee drinker, but I miss just having a bit in the morning to wake me up.

tiffanybruiser :  thank you for your wisdom!! I’m going to stop testing so much. My fertility app recommended testing this coming Tuesday, so I’ll try again then. I’m super hungry, a little bit nauseated and have some slight breast tenderness going on. And my period is 2 days late. I’m going to just trust that if it’s meant to be it will be. Testing like a maniac isn’t going to change anything. I think I was in shock and disbelief and seeing the lines show up each day helped reality set in, but now it’s just stressing me out. My dr appointment is 2 weeks from today, they don’t take appointments any earlier than that. Thanks again for your advice!

Baby #: 1

Cycles TTC: 1 (crazy, was not expecting that!!)

BFP story: I was holding out til Saturday (today, 13 dpo) so I would either have a clear yes or no. Was assuming BFN because just started ttc, we’re both older, and I don’t really have any symptoms. But my temp was still high this morning so I got a bit excited… I tested first thing and it was a strong line on a FRER!! Also a good line on a clinic guard. I’m kinda in disbelief and haven’t even told my SO yet! 🤪

How many weeks / EDD?: October 5 is the EDD – just about 4 weeks along I think? AF is (was!) due Monday and I have 31 day cycles.

Team Green or finding out the sex? Definitely finding out! One of the miracles of modern medicine.

When are you telling people? Any special plans in doing so?  I had to restrain myself from texting a photo of the FRER to my Mom, Dad, and sister!! Lol. They know we just started trying. Definitely will tell them soon, we’re really close and if I do MC I’d want to have their support. I have some adorable little baby booties that are made with the color and mascot of SO’s college / grad school (he’s a proud alum), so I’m going to wrap those up with the preggo test and give it to him tonight ❤️

Trying not to get toooo excited because I know miscarriage rates are higher for our age classes. But hey today I’m preggo and I’m pumped!
