Hi Ladies,
Where are you in planning? I am going for my second fitting today with all of y outfit pieces (dress, shoes, headband, veil, and jewelry). This will be my first time seeing everything on together and I am so excited! We are going to pay for our linens and to get our license on Friday.
How many days do you have left? I am down to 17 days!!! It feels so surreal. I had my first emotional break down the other day. My mom gave a year ahead planner and I finished reading the whole thing......it hit me that the time was HERE!! I was crying uncontrollably and had to text my mom to calm me down. Everything was hitting me at once. Have you had any moments like these? How are you feeling/holding up? What are you most excited for?
Any stressors? My main thing that is bothering me is my family from out of town. There are so many that I didn't plan on coming that are actually making the 8 hour drive to come to MY wedding. I am amazed that they are actually wanting to come, but noone is really giving me any details. I am like, "I kind of need ot know that you are coming so that I can plan for you." I also don't mind children being at the reception, but my cousins' kids are BAD and weren't included in the reserved seats, but they're trying to bring them anyway!! My mom plans on having someone designated to keep the "unwanted rugrats" in someone's hotel room, because I don't want them being disruptive or distracting!
TOTALLY. We met with the woman who is playing the organ bc I wanted to see how "Once upon a dream" from Sleeping Beauty would sound walking down the aisle and totally started crying. Everytime I think about saying my vows/proclamations, I start to tear. Don't know how I'm going to make it through the day without f'ing up my makeup!
Lots of little details to finish but everything is really coming together. I just can't believe it's almost here. It will be 2 years when we get married from proposal, I remember thinking 2 years is soooo long, well it's here! These last 25 days are going to be nothing, it's freakin October 1st on Friday for God Sakes!
What are you most excited for PrncssDva??
I'm excited for our first dance, our vows, and just the overall party!
This is my check-in:
AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
@Habibah14: WOW....2 years. How did you last? A year was kinda getting too long for me, but it's here now. That is so freaking cute. I have been an emotional wreck lately. I am already an emotional person, but multiply that by like 100. That is ME!! I cry over anything.... shows about babies, birth, fashion make-overs, weddings, you name it!!
I am most excited to be in the moment..waking up on my wedding day, putting my dress on, walking down the aisle and seeing FI's face, saying our vows, our first dance, and mingling with the guests. I just can't wait to see a year of plannign come together...well the small portion that I'll get to see, lol. Doesn't that trip you out how the person that does the most work doesn't get to fully enjoy the fruits of their labor!?
@Bunny2010:LOL... I am sorry to laugh, but that cracked me up. Are you ok?
@Bunny2010: LMAO!!
@PrncssDva: You totally made me cry! When I read your post I also started thinking "It IS almost all over". It's very bittersweet. I cannot wait to marry my love, but wth am I supposed to do w/ all my free time?! lol
@CaraMia10: EXACTLY!! Sorry to make you cry :(
I have been thinking about that too.....BUT this girl I know just asked me to help her with her wedding for April...YEAHHHHHHHHHHH then she asked me to be a Bridesmaid...double YEAHHHHHHHHHHH That'll buy me some time.
Hey ladies! I share Bunny's sentiment. AHHHHHHH!
We just booked the DJ and officiant, our last 2 vendors. My FFIL booked the rehearsal dinner. We had our final meeting with the florist to confirm everything. The RSVP deadline is swiftly approaching.
I just cant believe the last year and a half has gone so fast. People keep asking if I'm excited. Yeah. Excited, nervous, panicked, and a whole other host of other emotions.
@zippylef: When is your RSVP date? Mine is this Saturday. Having Save the Dates bought me more time.
@PrncssDva: Don't be sorry! I'm a big baby :( lol
What are you guys doing for rehersal? We're planning on a very low key bbq @ our ceremony spot, which is a gorgeos lakeside park.
@CaraMia10: SO, am I!! LOL...I bought an 8 pack of travel size tissue at Dollar Tree for the Wedding Day Emergency Kit, lol
We are having pizza at our apartment. We just moved in two months ago and not many people have been over.
@PrncssDva: Mine is Saturday too. I made it early on purpose, my family are HUGE procrastinators.
Oh, going in for my 2nd fitting tomorrow to figure out my bustle!
Final fitting tonight and wedding THIS SUNDAY!! Woot Woot!!
@zippylef: I know what you mean. I have only gotten about 30 or so back fout of almost 200...isn't that crazy!! I have some some random texts or messages on Facebook stating that others ar ecoming...so I guess I still will have to call a majority unless a butt load shows up between now and then.
She'll be figuring out my bustle today too.
@PinkSparkleGrl: YAY! Congrats & well wishes that everything goes PERFECT ;)
@PrncssDva: We made Tears of Joy packets, but I'll probably end up using about 12 packets myself, haha
I have 23 days left, and I sort of feel like punching things. We didn't procrastinate, but we have so much still to do. We are long distance from our venue, living in two different states across the county from each other, in like 9 days I am quitting a job I love to move to a state I have never ever been to. So 22 days - moving, wedding planning details, long distance. My brothers are being a pain in my ass doing nothing but complaining about how much it is costing for them to attend this wedding.
I'm just not feeling the tears of joy "oh my god its almost here" stuff yet.
Raise your hand if you are soooooo ready for the honeymoon!
*raises hand* ME!
We're 3 days out, and doing really well.
My to do list?
-write thank you cards to bridesmaids and parents
-pick up parent gifts (engraved frames or something like that)
-have dad print programs
-download recessional songs, burn to cd for tech guy at the chapel
-get my eyebrows done (tomorrow)
-pick up engagement ring (finally getting it sized) on the way to the rehearsal
That's all! I plan to go to the mall and target tomorrow, see if I can't find another swimsuit on clearance (no harm done if I can't) for the honeymoon, because apparently we're going somewhere warm. I'm excited for our honeymoon - J planned the whole thing as a surprise for me! I find out where we're going when we get to the airport on Sunday morning :) I don't know where he found the time, between his third of the wedding plans, teaching and grad school!
@PinkSparkleGrl: Ohhhhhhhhh I am so happy for you. How exciting!! Post lots of pics! Have a wonderful special day!!
@CaraMia10: What're included in these packets and who are they for?
@rawrkitty1022: Wow...that's alot to deal with. You will get everything done, your brothers will get over it, and you will have THE best day ever!! ((HUGS))
@daydreamwanderer: That surprise honeymoon is sweet!!! Anywhere warm is always great. Have so much fun!!
I SO know what you mean. You plan and you plan, but it never really seems like it's going to get here! It didn't really hit me until we got to less than 30 days. We are now 24 days away and I feel like I still can't absorb the hugeness of it all and the fact that I am getting married in 3.5 weeks.
We've been to two weddings in the past three weeks and I was definitely more emotional than I normally am at weddings of people I don't know very well, because I kept thinking, "That's going to be us next month!"
I feel like we get so caught up in all the logistics and details (we have to - if we don't, who will?!) that it's easy to forget the emotional side of it and the whole idea of marriage...so for the next few weeks I'm going to try hard to focus on those and not sweat the small stuff :)
SO excited to start seeing some October recaps! Almost there ladies.
@hergreenapples: That is so true. The emotional stuff usually gets put on the backburner until it's almost time. I am so excited for October recaps too!!
@PrncssDva: They're just tissue packets we made for our guests. We put 2 tissues in each of ours. Here's the tutorial from a Bee:
http://www.weddingbee.com/2010/05/25/diy-tears-of-joy-tissues/
Here is a pic of ours, I LOVE how they turned out!
@CaraMia10: Ohhhhhhhh that's really cute. I didn't think about the guests and tears, lol. I guess I can give a few packs to the hostesses to pass out. Thanks!!
I cant see your picture either:(
@PrncssDva: I know. I saw them and just had to do them. My mom was NOT thrilled w/ me adding a project, but oh well, lol. I really am glad we did them. I'm sure guests bring their own tissues, but it's just a little something extra. I don't know how to bring the pic up any other way, I'm sorry!
@CaraMia10: That's ok. Do you think that I should give the hostesses some packets of tissue or just not worry about it? I cry alot and I don't bring my own tissue, lol
@PrncssDva: I wouldn't worry about it. People are not going to be like, "Oh my gosh!! WHERE are the tissues?! How could PrncssDva NOT supply tissues?!"
@CaraMia10: LOL..ok, one less thing to continue to NOT worry about, lol
@Bunny2010 My thoughts exactly!
I had my first fitting yesterday, and it went incredibly well. It just needs to be shortened and have a french bustle added. Otherwise, it fits like a glove. I feel like I'm making progress on most of my DIY projects -- table numbers, 'I Do' letters for the cake table, card cage.
As for stressors, I'm very worried about my paper products -- rehearsal dinner invites, out-of-towners dessert reception invites, escort cards, place cards, and programs. The printer I've been working with does beautiful work, but they're slow and don't communicate well. I'm also starting to stress over 5-6 friends who needed to delay their RSVPs for legitimate extenuating circumstances. I know they can't help it, but I really want to know they'll be there! Then there's my to-do list. I can't even type it all out here because it's too depressing. And have I mentioned I go back to school next Wednesday? *sob*
@PrncssDva: I heart when you post these threads for October brides. If I could start threads on WB all day I would. I have so many things I wanna know about. I am too chicken sh-- to do it plus the majority of my curiosities have to do with October 2010 brides, LOL
The only major thing we had left was meeting with the band - - We met with our band leader this past weekend and that was a ton of fun. The other things we have left to do are below...I pick up my dress next week on Tuesday, hallelujah!!!
I'm 10 days out (I think). It's so strange - we've been together 7.5 years, but I feel like the year of us being engaged has absoluetly flown by. I don't feel like I've absorbed being engaged yet, and we're so close to being married!
My to do list is pretty small (I think):
-finish writing ceremony and email it to officient
-double check all of my to-dos for the Thursday and Friday before the ceremony
-make the bouquets (just two) and corsages/bouts, but I can't do that until next Thur/Fri since the flowers won't be in until then
-random stuff I still need to buy, like flower food and water bottles
-make packing list for honeymoon; plan that out a little more (we know where we're going, but we want to have a rough idea of what we're doing each day. Also, I need to book our couples' massage!)
-figure out how we're going to play music at our ceremony site (CD, ipod, etc)
-finish figuring out how the processional is going to work (thank goodness it's a tiny wedding!)
-oh, and give the final numbers to our reception venue.
-lots of random little projects that I need to finish up at work
I had a meltdown last night where I was simultaneously crying and trying to organize piles. It wasn't fun, but I think it was good to get out of my system - I feel a lot calmer today!
Sorry! Finally can follow up, Modern Family is over and now watching Cougartown haha
@PrncssDva: Yeah, don't know HOW I made it 2 years but seriously, it FLEW by!
I'm super emotional too and cry at a drop of a hat... right now watching My Fair Wedding totally gets me! We also went to 2 weddings and so emotional about it. It was kinda fun to have a couple before us to see if there was anything we want to add or make sure we don't do.
I've been obsessed with looking at everyone's recaps! I can't wait to see all of yours and share mine.
TOTES need the Honeymoon! Where is everyone going? We're off to St. Lucia for 10 days!
Re: Rehearsal, we're doing a BBQ Wiffle Ball game, Sox vs. Yankees theme-- we just rented our steamin' demon hotdog machine and pretzel warmer!
YAY for October Brides!
honestly all I have left is to finish my card box
we're going on a 2 week caribbean cruise in December for our honeymoon
rehearsal is at a japanese teppanyaki restaurant
@pinkrokker: Don't stress yourself out. You still have time to get everything done :)
@jackie-o: I love my fellow October 2010 brides!!!
@liltwinstar: I still need to figure out the processional logistics too.
@Habibah14: My Fair Wedding is one of the major shows that makes me cry. I record every single episode and that's prety much all that I watch anymore, lol
@marlew: Wow...you're doing pretty good. I need ot find a metal birda cage for my cards! I love Japanese food!
@Habibah14: We're heading to Europe for two weeks (one week in Portugal, one week in Paris) and we can't wait! I am kind of wishing though that we'd left a week or two between the wedding the honeymoon, because I haven't been able to dedicate the kind of time to planning the honeymoon that I would have liked...but....can't complain!
The wedding is in TWO days!!! I need to pick up one of the bridesmaid's dresses and a few tuxedoes, take everything to the site, buy flowers for mason jar center pieces and aisle decor, take my bouquet picture frame to the florist, and that's it!
Okay, seriously, is anyone else but me ready to feel...not so crazy? I keep waking up in the middle of the night thinking of things to add to my frayed and scary master list. I keep dreading it every time the phone rings because I'm convinced that it will be something gonig wrong.
Yesterday FI was like "remember on Thursdays when we used to order pizza and watch Grey's Anatomy? When can we go back to that??"
I need to figure out the processional too, it's driving me crazy! I can't even go visit the place, so I have no idea. Zero. We might just cartwheel up the aisle who knows?
heLLo ladies welll im def a little more sentimental than usual ! stressed ohhh yeah ! i basically cant have ppl rsvp because the Fi fam and mine do not belive in that we are both fm mexican fams and thats not a tradition in mexico ;( ! i have no kids on our wedding invite but his fam insists on bringing them i dont mind but it does kind of bother me that they say 4 ppl would assist and then we call back and they say its 8 of them including a 6 month old baby ..really do they need a chair and palte setting?? my Fi has a 6 yr old brother and he is baaaad like really baaad and when he is with his cousins kids he's even worse i can only imagine them hanging fm my dress when we are doing our first dance ughhh this drives me nuts!!!!! =S ...
aside fm that i only have center pieces to finish and we still have about 2 weeks so im pretty confident that they will be done !
im exited, nervous, happY, waaay more emotional than usual ... whole bunch of feelings piled up ! cannot wait to be married and party at the reception then do nothing for days !
Oh the October Brides! I can't believe it's our month! Finally!!!!!!!! Just as many of you stated in your posts, I, too have been quite emotional lately. Just thinking about the wedding and/or listening to a song...I start tearing up. Here's to waterproof makeup!
I still need to:
For those bees getting married this month, all the blessings to you!
@Quietserenity: i totally understand uR feeling caN noT waiT to go baCK and read my book for an hR then go to beD early with no worries .... oH and not be so bipolar im starting to scare myself this is soo not meee!!!!!!! =)
Wow, it's finally really hitting me...with 10 days to go! I have a few last minute things to finish up. I have to call 2 more families about their RSVP and finish making the programs. Then the dreaded Seating chart... I'm more stressed about my out-of-town family than anything. I am doing a lot of things myself and am worried about not having time to spend with them. I guess I'll figure it out.
I'm so ready for the honeymoon!! Going to Disney World
Woooo Hooo!!! Wedding in 2 days & my to-do list looks like this:
Today - Tan & dinner with in-laws
Friday - Nails & pedicure, very short rehersal & cocktail party
Sat - The BIG DAY!!!
I'm soooo excited for our honeymoon! We booked a fabulous house in Lake Tahoe & all we are going to do is relax! We packed last night & there is just hiking clothes, jeans & long sleeve tshirts, a bathing suit (for hot tub), flip-flops & lots of lingerie!!! ha! That is how relaxed this honeymoon will be!
Congrats to my fellow October 2nd brides ~hope your day is wonderful!
