After omitting the honeymoon [which will run around 7k], this is how far we are :
I’m so happy to watch that estimated bar fill up, and I can’t WAIT until everything is paid for! We still have around $1200 of our tax return to apply to something wedding related [haven’t decided yet, maybe photographer?], and we are selling our old vehicle for $600 tomorrow [we bought it but neither of us ended up liking it so it’s been sitting for a few years].
How far are you? How do you feel about it?

@jenilynevette: That is a neat little tool. We are further behind.
We have paid:
$500 of $2600 ceremony package (include ceremony photographer, flowers, guitarist, pastor, 3 nights at hotel, etc…)
$800 of approx $1600 (plus extras at least 200$ veil and jacket and alterations???) dress
$1000 of a $ 2500 reception dinner
$0 of $ 500 flowers/table runners for dinner
$180/$180 Std’s and invites CHECK-YAY!
$0/ $1000 Photog
$0/$ 500 gifts for parents/parties/welcome bags
So about 1/4th…. 2,500/10,000
Not to mention $0/$ 4000 approx Honeymoon(week in Vegas, then Disneyland with my parents and little sisters for a few days and then Disney World for a week). FI parents said they are giving a few thousand for Vegas, so not concrete but counting on $2,000 help from them.
This was kinda theraputic to write out, however, we were doing a destination wedding to save money and keep it intimate. I wanted to do everything for about 3,000- 5,000 including attire. Oh well. At least I am not handing a check over for 10,000, that would hurt…little by little.

my dress is paid for. we’ve also put down deposits that total probably 15% of the rest of the cost.
i have to go through and put everything in a spreadsheet. it’s all written on paper currently. it’s on my to do list for our upcoming vacation.

- Wedding: October 2014 - Monday Night Brewing
I just did a little inventory of our finances and budget… And I’m happy to say that we’re totally in the black! We’ve got our deposits in for all our vendors, plus enough in our savings account to pay them all off come October. Such a good feeling! Zero debt wedding.

jenilynevette: We’ve fully paid off the venue, dj, photographer, videographer, photo booth, decor, wedding rings, bride and groom attire, and invitations. We put down a 50% deposit on the wedding cake/cupcakes. Still need to pay for flowers (DIY), alcohol (DIY), caterer, day of coordinator, officiant, and hair/makeup.
I’ve been using the clever bride spreadsheet and it’s amazing! We should have everything paid off by September for a debt free wedding!

futuremrsstraight: Very awesome! We are hoping to be debt free as well, which is totally doable. We aren’t booking anything for the honeymoon until the wedding is 100% paid off.

jenilynevette: That’s awesome! I love seeing that other brides are working towards a debt free wedding as well!
We were lucky enough to be gifted our honeymoon from my father and stepmom. We actually just got our resort and flight confirmations on Monday. 7 months to go!

Everyone’s doing so well! We’ve paid for our venue, basic dinner, DJ, and dress in full. Have put deposit down for photographer & cake. Still need to pay for everything else but that puts at having 50% paid off.

jenilynevette: not an Oct bride, but just curious what app you are using for your budget? I’ve been looking for a simple tool to keep track of how much we still owe to our vendors but haven’t found one yet. Thanks!
Let’s see…I’m only listing the big things.
Planner: Paid $560 of $2100 (will be paying another $560 next month)
Photographer: Paid $250 of $1500
Dress: $1100 of $1100 done yay! Alterations will be separate

Rings: Paid $500 of 750
Brunch reception: Paid $480 of approx $1400
Flowers: Paid $350 of $350 (silk, also done yay!)
Still need to find FI’s outfit and get his rings squared away (he’s getting two), find some small decorations for the reception, book the hairdresser, book speakers and delivery for our DJ friend, finish purchasing wedding party gifts (we have some), put together OOT bags, and stash some money away for the gas for the drive from DC to FL and for things out while we’re there.

cestvrai: I’ve been using the Clever Bride’s budget tracker and love it!

cestvrai: Wedding Wire works well too. That’s what the screenshot jenilynevette used in the first post looks like. They have a mobile app.

cestvrai: pandabee: Pandabee is correct, it’s the wedding wire app. I really love having a HUGE breakdown of every single item I’ve bought, or need to buy, makes it SO much easier to remember everything we need.

- Invitations/ Stationery – To be made by BM and I
- Hire Chairs for Reception – $100.00 of $1095.00
- Flowers – Silk, via etsy. Paid. BM will have parasols rather than bouquets, these are also paid for.
- Lolly Bar – My mum and I are doing this ourselves, everything is paid for except the actual candy/ lollies, so I’m unsure how much I’ve spent, or will spend.
