So now that all our weddings are over, how did they go?  I've just posted a recap (with pictures) of ours at this link, but would love to hear from the rest of you.

Our wedding was great!  It was a crazy week leading up to it though; we were having an outdoor wedding,  because in our area it seriously never rains that early in October....but the whole week leading up to the wedding it was raining!  And then the wedding day was HOT.  I'm talking like 90 degrees during the day and still 80 at night.  We were all sweating like crazy.  But it was so much fun and am so thankful it didn't keep raining on our wedding day!!

I don't really have pics yet though =( My photog is promising to get them to us soon.

Noelle-a-Belle, I definitely want to see the pictures with all those cranes.  That sounds like it was a huge project.

@2dBride: LOL the funniest thing about the cranes???  I folded every single piece of paper, because I had exactly 1000 pieces of paper.....well after the damn wedding, I found a box with like 30 more pieces of paper in it!!!!  I was seriously shocked and then started busting up.  I haven't told anyone yet besides my hubbie because I'm afraid that if I tell my mom & her relatives (the Japanese side) they will tell me that now our marriage is cursed or something hahahaha!

I would definitely avoid telling them!  I'm pretty sure that a deficit of 30 cranes will not in fact cause your wedding to be cursed.

NixLapi, is there perhaps a typo in your link?  Looks like maybe it ought to be http://designedbyrj.blogspot.com/  (You have the d and b reversed.)

I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of the recaps!

I love the, "Before I start in, I've gotta say it... our wedding wasn't perfect. *gasp*".  Our wedding was so imperfect, we ended up with a whole separate "bloopers" video.  And we had the opposite problem from you with our photographer--he got gorgeous photos of the two of us, but totally overlooked the reader and the seven people who gave blessings.  (Hello?  This was the most participatory wedding in the history of the world--why would we not want photographs of the participants?)  At the same time, I feel like our day was perfect--we were continuously surrounded by people we love, and ended up married.

Wedding was perfect! Sure, it was pouring rain and the minister dropped my wedding band after blessing it at the altar, but everything was really perfect and thinking back on it makes me really happy. Some teasers from our photographer: http://www.studiomanhattan.com/blog/?p=992

allurex, I love the black and white color scheme!  And I don't think the blessing falls off if the ring is dropped.  ;-)

Thanks for sharing your wedding re-cap.  The troubles with breaking the glass egg cracked me up.  I'm glad you finally got it done, and props for using Etsy to create a special keepsake! (I looove Etsy!)

Our best wedding decision was for sure the photographer.  Here is a mini blog post with photos from Tyler Wirken.  My new husband admits that he finds himself gazing at the pictures at least once every few days! http://www.wirkenblog.com/2009/11/30/erin-slawik-wedding/#more-3991

Thanks, mizrunazou!  My twin sis did my makeup.  She's no professional, but knows me better than just about anyone (besides hubby) and that's JUST what I needed for a look that was truly me.  I guess she'd be fore hire, for the right price, lol.

Seriously, though - the girl who did my hair came EXTREMELY highly recommended from one of my best friends (& BM).  Her name is Amanda Parra & I hope she doesn't mind me posting her info here, but the phone # to Medusa Salon is 816-753-5455.

I am super incredibly picky about having my hair done.  Not that I am prissy about anything else. Really!  I'm pretty easy to please in other departments.  Before the wedding I had NEVER had it styled to my liking (I re-did my updo immediately following going to the stylist at my sisters wedding.  I think you get the idea).  Amanda was amazing!  She did a beautiful job with my hair.  It's never looked so good before (and, sadly, probably never will again, lol).  She gave lots of good suggestions while at the same time really listening to what I liked.

Hope this helps.  I'd love to know more about your wedding in KC!  Does your family live here or are you moving to Kansas City?
