Um ... this did not post where I intended it to! Could a mod move it to October 2010? Or Fitness?
I need that last minute motivation! I'm not sure I really want to *lose* a weight, but really just tone up for the wedding and the honeymoon. I don't want to have to alter my dress because at this point it fits perfect, but if i have to, i will! But I need some motivation! I haven't gone back to the 30 day shred since 5 months ago or so, and I really need to. I'm not working right now so I have ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD but i can't seem to get my butt in gear!
stay away from starcy carbs, if it were me I would cut all my carbs extremely low and pretty much just eat brocolli or lettuce for my fiber and carbs, eat lean protein and good healthy fats. low carbing it (healthily) actually makes you drop fat really quick!
I'm doing the master cleanse for the next week just to see if I can and what happens. I'll let you know if it actually does anything decent
@kellifromkeller: i would love to hear about this master cleanse! i should bring down my carbs and dairy...i like cheese way too much. also sodium. yep. hears to more broccoli, edamame and romaine lettuce!
I'm going to do it for a week (bridals are next Wednesday) so we shall see! haha
@kellifromkeller: I do the master cleanse a couple of times a year. Expect a 1-2 lbs loss per day but after you stop it, you will gain about half of it back in water wait in a few days!
I too have recommitted started this past weekend and doing great. I got a food journal at barnes and nobles and comitted to working out. I totally could use a motivation buddy! I guess just posting this is keeping me honest and focused!
I'm hoping for a 15 lbs drop which is completely doable in 7-8 weeks. I'm doing 1200 calories, 90g of protein, 150g carbs, and 27g of fats. Aiming to burn 300-450 calories at the gym 4-5 times a week. My food journal says a 3500 calorie deficit a week equals 1 pound. Wish me luck and good luck to you!
I would love to hear about the cleanse too!!
150g of carbs is a lot per day if you're trying to lean out. If you're really looking to drop fat, I would keep your carbs around 50g per day - this means cutting out most refined carbs, but you can still eat all the fruits and vegetables that you want (well, maybe not ALL the fruit you want, but at least a serving or 2 a day). Up your protein intake so you don't get hungry, and stay full by getting good fat all day (avocado, coconut, olive oil, nuts sparingly). Try to eat one gram of proten per pound of lean body mass. For example - I weigh 125 pounds and have 19% body fat - which means that I have 23.75 pounds of fat on my body, and have 101.25 pounds of lean muscle. So I eat about 100g of protein a day.
Also, try food logging! The Daily Plate is a great free website to help you log what you eat. Those little cheats add up fast!

Well ladies, after a nearly 15 month engagement, I have come down to the wire with regard to my weight loss. It has *not* progressed to the point where I was hoping it would be by now :( I had myself a fabulous little pity party tonight.
With seven weeks to go, I can't expect miracles, but I definitely think I can drop at least ten pounds and tone up a bit if I'm very careful about my diet and I get my lazy bones back to the gym.
Starting tomorrow, I am back to a healthy diet (Twix Bars, begone!), back to my running routine, and starting The Infamous Shred. I don't expect to lose the 20 pounds in 30 days but that would certainly be nice -- I'm mostly hoping that will help with toning. I've hung up the dress I want to wear to my rehearsal dinner front and center in my closet to help with motivation.
As a student, I positively thrived on a deadline. I'm hoping this holds true for my last ditch effort to look good at my wedding.
Anyone else interested in being last minute motivation buddies? :) Or, do you have any tips/suggestions?
