My fiance and I love the outdoors and want our reception outside. We want to be casual and have fun and one of our favorite things to do is curl up in front of our fire pit on a cold autumn night.
We have our eyes on the perfect pavillion(complete with adjacent stonewalls, tons of trees and a large meadow!) and want to be married on October 22, 2016. The pavillion we have our eyes on has electicity and a HUGE fire pit(away from the actual pavillion)
What are your thoughts on temperature? If it’s actually freezing, we could always rent a tent and heaters. And maybe even heaters for the pavillion. Has anyone been to a colder outside reception?

Cyclebride: O boy As a fellow MA Bee I steered clear of October because personally I hate being cold. BUT if that is something you guys love I say go for it but have a backup plan in motion because like you know, especially in October it could be 70 or snowing! I’m having an outdoor may wedding and worked with the tent company so tent heaters will be on hand if needed but if they are not set up I won’t be charged for them (This took a lot of negotiation but worth it!) I also would make a note that the wedding is outdoors on your invite so your guest can plan accordingly!

Yeah, I’m a MA bee as well and even in mid-September, I was nervous about the weather for my wedding. That late in October, I would not want to be outside for an extended period of time in fancy clothes.
