Starting next week I'm in wedding planning mode.... Meeting with pastor to set up ceremony, my birthday, engagement photos!!, sending invites, first bridal shower for FI's side, then my dress comes in!!!, my girls' dresses come in, then in the midst of all the holidays!! Then before we know it, it's January!! I can't believe it! :-)

Oh man where to begin. This saturday I am (hopefully) reserving chair covers w/sashes, buying more fabric for my guest book table and cake table. Pricing fabric for a ceiling and wall canopy (give or take 300 yards ughhh) I also want to get all the knick knacks like guest book, cake servers, garter. And then Oct 4th we go for our cake consultation and hopefully book them. Caling our photographer to get a final price, calling our caterer to tell them our menu and get a final price. Find a bra and flats for my final dress fitting Oct 20th and then take bridal pictures Oct 16th. I yi yi, I need an excedrin now... Undecided

@kansasprincess11 - we're sending out invites out by the first week of November. some of our vendors need final numbers a month before the wedding, so we want to allow plenty of time for our guests to RSVP & make travel plans since about half are coming from out of state.

other october to-do's - i have my tasting & floral appointment next weekend! also finalizing transportation for guests. getting excited!

We are sending our invites mid to late Nov for our Jan 29th wedding. Its 98% family that will be there and we see them every month since we all live fairly close, so we dont need to send them out too early and have anyone forget about it in the midst of the holiday madness!

I plan on sending out my invites mid to late October, so that we avoid the holiday craziness and RSVPs getting lost in the shuffle. That also depends on getting addresses from FMIL so I can type them up and get them in the mail.

I'm sending out invites 2 months ahead - Nov 13th and asking for a Dec 16th deadline for a Jan 16th wedding.  I guess I'm not that worried.  I'm signing my florist contract this month, videographer contract, and a ton of DIY stuff to do!

I received our first wedding gift today!!!!

My wedding is on NYD and I am sending my invitations out during the last week of Oct. and first week in Nov. In Oct. I will have my bridal shower! Plus, I will be able to see my family for the first time since August. I have already ordered my BMs jewelry and gifts. Next, I plan on finally booking my videographer and ordering my cake topper.

Happy October planning!  Let's see...I have my first fitting this Wednesday and we just booked our honeymoon yesterday!  St Lucia here we come! :)  We have our cake tasting on Saturday and a meeting with the minister to plan our ceremony.  We are sending out our invitations the second week of October with an RSVP date of 12/1 to avoid all of the holiday craziness!  I think FI will go pick out tuxes this month and look for groomsmen gifts.  I still have to get gifts for our readers and our parents.  I just looked at my to do list and feel like it's ever growing!!

Had my tasting on Friday and picked the entire menu. Now I need to figure out what I am going to do for menu cards. Have my flower sample tonight. Need to get FI to Men's Warehouse to pick out the tux. Invites go out October 22. They are all addressed and stamped. Ready to go. I am in the process of making the invitations for the rehersal dinner. Just booked that. Need to do EVERYTHING related to the church. Unfortunately they are not very responsive or helpful. Booked Sandals in St. Lucia, now I just need to book the flights. Bachelorette party this weekend. Woo-hoo. And yes, everytime I cross one thing off the list, 3 more seem to be added to the list.

Wow! So much to do! I took my bridal portraits this weekend and LOVED them! In October, my cousins/BM's are throwing me my bridal shower! I can't wait. Now, I have to meet with my caterer again to finalize some details, choose my cake, FI has to pick out GM attire and his, we need to buy our wedding bands and the rest of the little things we don't have yet (cake server, toasting flutes, etc.) I also have to finish making my centerpieces, buy BM gifts/jewelry, etc, help FI pick out his GM gifts. Wow! So much to do, so little time.

@Talishazwi - I'm also sending out my invites November 13th!

Gah, it's sneaking up on me! Haha

We have our engagement pics in a few week also, so excited! We'll have the calligrapher address the invites and then mail them (goal date to mail them is the 1st week of Nov.) Other goals include booking our flight for the honeymoon, figuring out the wedding cake with our caterer, looking for tuxes for the groomsmen and setting up an appointment for the first fitting!

This month I'm trying to get back into the wedding mode:

    • dress fitting (scheduled for the 10th, but may change based on my work schedule)
    • buying our rings
    • buying the men's jackets
    • getting the girls looking at dresses and hopefully get them picked out
    • invites getting designed and printed, sent out mid-November hopefully with a December deadline
    • buying veil, shoes, etc
    • repicking a menu (we keep changing it depending on how we're feeling at the time)

It's been crazy around here ever since I got a new job. We're also building a home and my grandfather just recently passed away, so we've been really busy dealing with everything seeminly non-wedding related.
