thought you girls could use a bit of humor in the midst of all the stress of wedding planning! I wrote this about a week before I found my dress :)

Ode to Wedding Dress

O thee wedding dress

I’ve searched high and low

Went to many a store

And put on quite a show

Fell in love once or twice

For a dress that was out of my price

Left the store is dismay

Wishing it was not this way.

Now recovered, on the search again

Hoping to find you soon

A dress of lace or taffeta,

A dress that will make me swoon.

Organza and ribbons,

Sequins and tulle

How do I pick one?

They all make me drool!

One  thousand, two thousand, four and eight

Way out of budget! And it’s getting late

Where is it hiding, where must I seek?

To find this dream dress, something so chic

A wedding of vintage, rustic or whim

A dress to match it, might cost a limb

Cause each I try on, I’m discouraged more

That it won’t happen, it’s all folk-lore.

Between Roth and Lazaro,

We’ll begin the search again.

Try on a hundred dresses or more

We’ll gallantly travel

From store to store
