@LeSpice:  Here is my 2 carat round brilliant with diamond side stones. I liked the OEC but couldn’t part with the money! I find mine is warm in the car, but everywhere else, its blinding white. It is unenhanced and I think its great.

I have an 2.5 ct (8.5mm) OEC FB Round Cut from moissaniteco.com set in 14k rose gold. It is sol346 on their website and it’s beyond gorgeous. I can’t even get over how amazing it is!

    I would definitely recommend!

It depends on what you like.  It’s really a question of whether you like large rainbowy flashes (OEC) or glittery sparkles (round brilliant).  Personally, I like OECs for .5ct+, because you can see the faceting – it’s sort of flowerlike.  I like round brilliant moissies for smaller stones, since that’s a more sparkly cut.

In your position I’d order an OEC Forever Brilliant, and since the setting you’re ordering’s from MoCo, I’d just order both from there.

@LeSpice:  I think if you have a cushion you should go for the OEC!  It’ll have a different light play – you already have glittery sparkles with the cushion.  Of course, I’m not the one buying it or wearing it, so it’s easy for me to say.

OECs are significantly more expensive than RBs. I had a cushion before and prefer the look of the OEC to the cushion (although I loved my cushion, it’s just “different” not exactly better). For a 2 ct FB OEC you’re looking at $965 for just the stone, classic is $700. For a FB RB 2 ct it’s $800 and classic is $610. I think the extra cost is worth it though. And good for you for quitting!

FWIW, I think that sometimes the cut on the rounds can be a little iffy and can be shallow. Sometimes it can give a fisheye appearance to the stone that’s undesirable. Since you already have a shimmerly sparkly cushion, I’d try out the OEC 😉

I have a 1 carat Round FB Moissy and it is nice, but given what I know now I would have bought a OEC first. I am currently wanting to buy a Cushion Cut or OEC moissy closer to 1.5 to 2 carats. You mentioned that you have a Cushion Cut is it a FB, is the color more on the yellow side or white.

Here is my OEC! I love the chunky facets and pastel flashes of light. Since moissy has double refraction and round brilliant is meant to maximize the sparkle, round brilliant moissy have tons of almost splintered sparkle. OEC moissys tend to look most like a diamond (if that matters to you) because the cut reduces the refraction.

@LeSpice:  You should get FB if you’re worried about color.  I got a classic round 1.25c Moissy from MCo and it shows very little color.  I love it!

8.5mm unenhanced Moissy OEC with diamond side stones. Love it.
