I've been on bc for the last 11 years, recently I had a health issue recently and my dr said if I went off bc it could lower my risk for certain things. DH & I have discussed waiting about 1 year to conceive, with this upon us he said just go off bc. I was floored b/c when I had brought it up before he said no it wasn't a good idea and now all of a sudden he's just get off it.

I.AM.TERRIFIED. I'm scared of what my body will do if I'm not on it, I just remember being younger and having terrible pimples, bad cramps and no knowing when I'll get it. Also I REALLY want a baby but now for some reason that it can be a reality I am terrified of getting pregnant. What is wrong with me? Was anyone else scared of getting pregnant even though you want a baby? What did your body do when you went off bc?

I'm always scared of the unknown.  That's partly why me and my husband make a good team, he sometimes is a little too anxious to dive in head first so we balance each other well.

My BF had terrible, throwing up cramps in HS and her Dr. put her on BC to control it which it did.  Now that she's off and TTC, the same cramps are happening.  She's talking to her Dr about other options - I'll let you know what he says.

My skin has totally reverted back to HS days.  It's super oily and gross and it's been perfect for the last 11 years.  I'm very sad : (  But hopefully it will balance out soon (it's been 7 months).  I haven't had any other changes.

As far as being scared for pregnancy, I'm getting less scared the longer we've been trying, especially because it hasn't happened yet and I really want it to.  I've been scared about being pregnant my whole life!

I was too... I had been on BC for 15 years and had started taking it because I had awful periods (really long, painful cramps, etc.) and then had acne... so I was sure my cycle would go back to being terrible and everything.  Suprisingly my cycle was like clockwork and stayed that way, though my skin was awful!  I tried everything but nothing helped, it's obviously just a hormonal thing for me :(  My skin cleared up when I started my second trimester, and hopefully will stay that way after baby gets here!

Aside from the physical stuff I was afraid of a lot of things... afraid I wouldn't be able to get pregnant, and at the same time afraid of everything about it!  Afraid we weren't ready (especially financially), afraid something would go wrong, afraid of being a mom (that I'd make mistakes....who doesn't though!)... to be honest, even after we got pregnant I was still worried a little and it didn't feel real to me.  The day we had our first ultrasound everything changed (for me, I mean).  It was like seeing her made her real and I've felt totally different since... not scared anymore, just can't wait to meet her :)

@troubled- I am very much a type A planner so the unknown terrifies me!

@MrsGreenGrass- How long have you been trying? One of my fears is that my skin will explode, I've been on it so long that I've never been an adult not on bc so I don't know if I will have normal skin or skin like a high schooler Frown

@Sessaj- I'm scared of my skin looking like crap and in turn me looking like crap. I'm afraid I won't get pregnant and that scares me a lot, even though I have no reason to think that I just do.

    Anyone else?
