- Wedding: July 2013
Please ignore my other threads…long story. They are closed. This is the official recap.
I was married in the Fiji Islands. My traditional Hindu wedding spanned over 3 days falling on the 11th, 12th and 13th of July. My Civil/Legal Ceremony fell on the 14th of July followed by a cocktail hour and reception. To cut things short, the first 2 days on the Hindu wedding involved a lot of rituals including being bathed in tumeric for over 24 hours as a cleansing ritual, having my hands and feet painted with henna and being put on a vegan diet.
Ill kick this recap off with Saturday the 13th of July 2013. My ceremony was to take place at 6.30pm at a temple i visited as a teen. The temple backed onto the international airport and behind that, the pacific ocean.
The day started with some more tumeric bathing followed by a breakfast of rice pudding (tradition). I began to slowly get ready over the day. At 4pm was a ritual with my uncle and Mum before leaving the house.
After that it was off to the temple for me to start getting ready. Photographer went over to grooms house to capture him leaving his family home.
