So, brief history, hubster and I decided to move up our plans to have a family by a bit, as earlier this year I had my AMH levels tested (family history of early menopause) and found out that they were pretty low for my age (1.4ng/ml and I’m 27), current research shows that you lose about 0.2 ng/ml/year, which would put me in my mid thirties, which was around the same time my aunt and grandma both hit menopause. We were originally going to try in the fall, but I wanted to have some fun with the BD and not go straight into the OPKs etc, as we really wanted to be pregnant by end of the year. In addition, my last two cycles had each been around 50 days long (with a normal 12 LP) … so all that compounded, we decided to just have lots of sex and see what happens, then get all scientific about it in the fall.
Well, my naturopath decided to have me start using vitex to help stabalize my temperatures and shorten up my cycles. I don’t know if it’s the vitex, or if my cycles are just starting to stabilize themselves out on their own, but my cycle shows that I od on CD17! Hubster and I were taking the every other day approach to BD, so we had BD on CD 14, 16 and 18. FF says there is a “good” chance that I could be pregnant, the earliest I could test would be on Wednesday, but I’ll probably wait until the weekend. On one hand, it’d be awesome to not be plagued by baby-making woes (my BFF and her DH have been trying for almost 3 years 🙁 ), but on the other hand … I sort of feel a little, I don’t know, gypped (that sounds awful doesn’t it), I certainly wasn’t expecting to O this early in the cycle, since my naturopath said that vitex can take several months to have an effect.
Nonetheless, I’m excited to POAS and not have it be an “oh sh*t, this better not be positive” moment.
