Can you work out a repayment plan with the venue/caterer given how late it is in the day?

@RiverBride13:  It sucks that you have to deal with this so close to the day but honestly I think they’d be happier to work out a repayment plan than for you to cancel at the last min (even if that was an option)

I’d choose this over borrowing from someone else to be honest

@RiverBride13:  This is spot on, your explaining the situation, your telling them what would preferable to you and then you are leaving them with a chance to offer up an alternative solution.

Give than the pricing has been delayed due to no fault of your own they should be more willing to help you out.

@RiverBride13:  Yes, I’m sure they can offer up a solution. two weeks is very short notice to come up with that kind of scratch. I’d try to see how much of that amount you can come up with until then and try to negotiate a little with them. Can’t hurt at this point. Good luck!
