Have you thought about have a friend or relative get ordained to marry you? I'm not familiar with the laws in your state, but I know many places allow this. Good luck!
I'm really sorry you've been left in the lurch! Can you ask the officiant who cancelled if they can recommend anyone? I'm sure that on our contract with ours it says that if for whatever reason they can't attend our ceremony they will arrange a replacement.
Well..my officiant was my uncle- he's an elected official and has only done a few weddings. He offered his friend the bartender who is supposedly available, but I've never met him and I live in Arizona, but my wedding is in Michigan....not exactly what I was looking for :(
We've thought about the getting a friend ordained, but at this point with a family member who already bailed on me I'm ready to hire an actual professional.
So if anyone knows a great professional in the Detroit/Ann Arbor area please let me know!

Okay, so my officiant just cancelled. Our wedding is October 2, 2010. Any recommendations for non-religious offiants in the Ann Arbor area?
