- Wedding: September 2013
I am from Canada and have desperately wanted Fiance uncle to officiate our wedding. Problem is, in Canada, it is a crazy process to become an officient and requires committment. SO we have had to forgo this wish.
Today I was speaking with a coworker and she was asked to officiate her nephew’s wedding but she isn’t an officient. They have decided to have this coworker do the ceremony, fake sign the license and then a few days later go to cityhall, just the 2 of them and get legally married there and sign the paperwork then.
I thought this was brilliant and also suggested to the coworker that maybe an actual officient could be there for the legal parts of the service but have the aunt (my coworker) lead the ceremony.
My question to you bees is what do you think of this? Are there things she and I, if I choose to go this route, am not thinking of? Anyone do this?
