You might check with your local Unitarian Universalist church. They do a lot of interfaith weddings and often are willing to incorporate various faith traditions into a ceremony.

I’m not sure you’ll be able to find a rabbi that will do your ceremony. I read about a woman who combines multiple beliefs, traditions, etc. for a nondemonational and unspecific religion ceremony, but I think she costs $1,000 for the ceremony plus expenses to fly her out, etc.

I read about her in One Perfect Day

Or you could have a friend get a marriage license online and he or she could marry you. A friend has one and it cost him $150.

Check to see if there are any Celebrants in your area – http://www.CelebrantUSA.org – they’ll work with you to create your ceremony, your way.  Good luck!!  I did a wedding last year that combind a lot of Jewish traditions (breaking of the glass, chuppah, seven blessings, wine ceremony) with a handfasting and Pagan elements.  So it’s possible!

I’d volunteer myself, but I’m up in NJ, so Baltimore is a bit of a hike for me ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks Erisque!

By any chance, do you have that information (what kind of certification is needed, where to file the paperwork) handy? If not, I can always look it up. Thanks for looking into it, and I hope you’re able to find an officiant!

I can give you the name of our Celebrant if you’d like (PM me). He’s not affiliated with any specific church (he’s a Celebrant, not an Officiant), and he will do anything you’d like. I’m not 100% on if he’s done/can do Jewish wedding traditions but you can ask! ๐Ÿ™‚ We’re doing Handfasting and he’s got a few options for it. He’s all around sweet (as is his wife/assistant). He wrote a basic ceremony for us and then I expanded on it (read: added a TON!) and he was 100% cool with it! ๐Ÿ™‚
Good luck!
BTW he’s based out of Virginia but will travel! ๐Ÿ™‚
